Head falls into pieces, need an engineering degree and close-up glasses to put it back together. Then it falls apart again. I have used Phillips all my life, but hate my sensotouch on a daily basis.

RQ12 Pro Failed Cost Reduction

Adding Pro to the end of a product should mean it offers increased performance. Instead, the RQ12 PRO is a failed cost reduction, cheapening the head and the blade! Instead of the 2 blade lift and cut system, it offers only one blade. The plastic head is poorly designed. As many have stated, it falls apart during use. I have used Norelco shavers for decades and never had the head flip off while shaving. It appears to only hold together if placed on in only 1 of the 3 directions. The shave is not as close as I was used to with the RQ12+ head, which I attribute to cheapening the blades and removing the lift and cut feature. I have since replaced my Norelco with a different brand. It offers a much closer shave than the RQ12 PRO head. I still prefer a rotary shaver for the comfort but mine is usable with the RQ12 PRO head.

RQ12 Plus replacement blades are a bad buy

Got a poor shave with the first try. I won't bother to repeat what's described in the previous unsatisfactory reviews. What is really serious here is that a product this poor, with such a large user base got out the door! It indicates a systemic problem from management, design, quality assurance, test, to marketing. I'm sorry to say that the seriousness of this problem indicates that Philips has gone the way of old, successful companies that have forgotten the importance of their customers.It's been a long run, but goodbye Philips!

Falls apart, hard to put together

I hate it, it fell apart within a month of owning it. The old model was easy to open and clean. This one falls apart when you try to wash it, and then you need to reassemble it. The back falls off and will not stay in place. I have used Norelco for 40 years, and am considering switching, since this is so big of a hassle.

New design, Great Shave

I’ve been using my Norelco 1290X shaver for 4 or 5 years. When I first got it, it produced a very good shave but after a year or so I had to replace the head. Unfortunately, by then the head design had changed to the 2nd generation “improved” RQ12 Plus (RQ12+ or RQ12/62). This head did not produce the same quality shave and I’ve been disappointed since. The general reviews were not very good for the head, either. I finally decided that since it’s been a couple years, the blades must need replacing so I reluctantly ordered a replacement set. However, in spite of having the same model name as the “improved” RQ12+, this set is actually a newer 3rd generation design and is giving me the best shave I have had in quite a long time, if not ever. The 2nd generation was called the RQ12/62 while the 3rd generation is the RQ12PRO or RQ12/72. So, make sure you get the head with the "72" in the name.

My complaint is with the Smartclean system that came with the shaver when purchased 3 years ago it has now failed for the 3rd time in 3 years.

Disappointed and betrayed by the brand

The replacement head does not provide a shave anywhere near as close or smooth as the original. Feel very betrayed by the brand that they did simply provide replacement blades for the 3D head and instead replace the whole head with one that does not conform to the face as well and does not shave as well. Used to live my shave now I hate it and have gone back to regular razor out of shear frustration.

very poor shaving quality compared to prior norelco's

S9000 2 yr old newer heads are poor quality. I am 72 years old and have been a Norelco customer for over 55 yrs. Declining quality in last 2 shavers, especially the flimsy heads. I own the cleaner machine, trimmer , cleaner solution. Will be force to look at another brand if these reviews do not change for the better. Plastic ring in which the heads sit broke and I glued it together . Guess I need to buy a whole shaving head similar to SH90/62.
