For maximum shaving performance, it is recommended to replace your shaving unit once every 12 months. Compatible with Series 9000 shavers. 4.5 million hairs on your face are cut by your shaver head within one year. Replace the shaver heads every 12 months and get back peak performance. Blades raise then cut long and short hairs for a fast shave. Super Lift & Cut Action lifts hairs to cut comfortably close. Shaver has a shaver head replacement indicator.

Replacement blades trim smoothly but rattle and vibrate like crazy and the loud noise makes the razor sound like a cheap baby toy. Extremely disappointing considering how much the razoe originally cost to purchase, let alone the cost of these defective replacement blades.

Philips proclaims to be pro-sustainability...I have never seen so much box for so little product. Not only cartoon box waste, but wasted space on trucks and airplanes which means more gas/oil consumption. Get serious Philips!!!

Expected a closer shave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I expected a closer shave with a new set of shaving heads than I got. The performance did not get noticeably better with time. These were replacement shaver heads for the original ones that came with the razor.

The improvement in retaining the cutting heads into the shaving frame is much appreciated. Just made it quite easy to switch the old heads out for the new heads. I regret not holding on to my old shaving heads though, because I’m finding thetic thoroughness of the initial cut is lacking. It’s almost doubling the time that I need to shave to get as close and thorough a cut as my old heads provided. If it weren’t for the sealed Philips package, I would almost believe that I have a knock off replacement set of shaver heads.

I like the older model shavers. These 9000 series are a joke and expensive to buy and replace the heads. The older models shave faster and better. I regret buying the 9000 series.

The website was easy to use. Right price point. And delivery was on time without any issues. I do like the upgrade of the retainers that hold the blades, sturdier not so flimsy. The only thing I do not like is that the head on occasion detaches from the body while shaving.

If you'd still like to achieve the best results with it, then we'd recommend the following: for the best result when using your Philips Shaver with a foam or shaving gel, we'd recommend you to take care of the following: Always wash your face with water and soap before you start your shaving routine, after which you can apply your shaving gel or foam. Now you should start shaving by moving your shaver in circular movements over your skin. Doing this ensures that all hair growing in different directions are removed. If you're shaving dry, then we'd recommend you to allow at least 15 minutes for your skin to dry completely before you start shaving after washing it with soap and water. I have been using and giving as gifts, Norelco shavers for the past 57 years (since 1962), and have never once been dissatisfied, until a year ago when I purchased the S9311/84. This model is certainly not one of Norelco's better ideas. The design is excellent, but the shaving capability falls flat on its face. It takes a much longer time to shave, the saving closeness and smoothness are much, much below what I have been accustomed to from Norelco. The shaving blades that come with the shaver go from mediocre to no good, and have to be replaced after just a few shaves. The replacement heads/blades are just as bad. All in all, this shaver has to be Norelco's worst ever. The pros are: Excellent design and aesthetics. The cons are: Missing shaving capability; takes forever and a day to give a not so reasonably accepted shave; a completely rough-house charging and cleaning system; and a pricey shaving blades that give a less than expected shave for the first six shaves or so, then have to be replaced. All in all, I would not recommend this product.

heads do not last and cost WAY to much.... shaves are not as close as with my old SPEED XL.... side burn attachment is totally inconvenient... just flat out don't like my 9300. have used norelco shavers for at least 30+ years. ... NO MORE

Shaver and replacement heads let down

I have used a Norelco shaver for many years, this one S9731 is by far a let down. I replaced the shaving heads even after reading the poor reviews because the shaver is not cheap and represents a decent investment. The replacement cutting heads rattle as others have described, the top part of the head even pops off in the middle of shaving. I am very disattisified and soon I will be forced to buy a new shaver. Guess what, it won't be a Norelco.

The brand new blades in no way give me the same shave as what I got when I purchased the shaver. Right now I'm not getting much more of a close shave than my old blades that I'm replacing. Something has changed in the materials or design. At this price I'm very disappointed. Installation of the blades was not easy or obvious. Could be much better.
