In comparason to my foil head Panasonic model, which cost three times as much, this shaver is lighter in the hand, quieter, doesn't nick my skin and still gives me a close shave. The replacement cost for just the shaving heads for the Panasonic are 150% of the total cost for this Philips model. A quality shave at a much lower cost: That says it all in my book! I'm glad I made the switch.

No electric shaver can beat 15 leisurely minutes spent with shaving cream and a traditional multi-blade razor. But this gives a close shave in a minute and has no problem with shaving every other day if you wish. It also charges in an hour or so. I do wish it worked when plugged into the wall, to deal with that rare instance when the battery runs out and you were not paying attention. The product was well priced for what it delivers.

Used it for 6 months and it is WORTHLESS! The trimmer doesn't even work...AT ALL! 3 rotary heads and you have to make several passes just to get a semi-close shave. Because my beard is grey, I can see just how close it DOESN'T shave! Grey stubble. I'm done with Phillips/Norelco. I've used their trimmers and my first electric razor at 13 was a 2 head Norelco...that cut better than THIS garbage! Plus the fact that back then (early 1970's) they included a small cleaning brush that was really useful in just popping open the lid, a couple swipes of the brush and you were good to go. NOW? You have the tedious task of popping out the heads if you want a good cleaning cleaning...for NO improvement whatsoever! Not only would I NOT recommend this to a friend, I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy! No quality anymore. Save your money and keep looking...elsewhere. Pffft! I'm out!

Keeping your blades clean and replacing them when required is the number one way to make sure you get a close shave. We recommend giving your shaver a quick clean after each shave and a more thorough cleaning each month. For details on how to do this, please refer to the user manual. The heads of your electric shaver are made up of two parts: the blade for cutting hairs and the cap to protect your skin. The cap is made of the thinnest possible metal to make sure the blade is cutting as close to your skin as possible while minimising the risk of nicks or cuts. Using the right technique is key to making sure you’re getting the best results from your Philips shaver. Hairs do not always grow in a uniform direction, and for that reason, we recommend moving your shaver in circles while applying light pressure. This allows the blades to cut hairs growing in all different directions. Additionally, if you haven’t shaved for three days or longer, pre-trim the longer hairs with a beard trimmer to ensure a better result when using your Philips electric shaver. The pop-up timer works well for trimming the ears and sideburns. The travel case is convenient to take the shaver with you on your next trip. Great to be able to charge in about 1 hour. I do recomend buying and using this Shaver on a daily basis.
