Description

Discover longer-lasting hair removal for even the most sensitive areas, without using chemicals or wax. Philips Satinelle Prestige is a complete hair removal system with epilator, electric shaver, body exfoliator and massage attachment. Satinelle hair removal epilator is designed to use on the legs, bikini area, armpits, face, and whole body. It now has more hair removal power, with faster and more stable disc rotation, for Philips' fastest and most efficient hair removal compared with entire Satinelle range. Device also has intuitive usage angle for smooth epilation. Epilation provides longer lasting results than a shaver, leaving skin smooth and stubble free for weeks. When comparing with the cost of salon waxing sessions over a year, you 'll save thousands of dollars by epilating. Philips Satinelle will catch hairs shorter than waxing, so spend less time waiting for hairs to grow out. The epilator head 's 32 rotating disks are made from a unique ceramic material with a micro-ridged surface that firmly grab hairs as short as 0.5mm without pulling the skin. Any discomfort will minimize with regular use. The range of attachments included make Satinelle a versatile hair removal solution perfect for the whole body. It 's designed with 8 attachments plus a travel pouch, for customized and complete hair removal from head to toe. Attach facial and delicate area caps on epilator head to remove hairs on face, underarms and bikini line. Incorporate body exfoliation brush and body massager into epilation routine to help relax the skin and also prevent ingrown hairs. Drawstring pouch conveniently stores epilator with attachments.

I got this epilator from a store. At first I thought it is going to work wonders because I already had one before too. But it doesn’t work that good. Either it’s just that one product or maybe the one i get is not the original one. I am so disappointed. I loved the one I got before because that worked so good on my skin and took all hairs out. But the one I bought recently is trash. I have been using Phillips epilator from 2 years now but the recent purchase made me skeptical now.

I’m writing this review to tell you to save your money. This literally just pulled at my hair & never actually plucked them. Such a waste of money & my time. I literally only use the scrubber & massager.

There are better epilators out there

I was excited to try an epilator after years of shaving and messy waxing. This epilator came with several attachments and looked really nice compared to other brands. I let my leg hair grow for over two weeks before using this so the hair would be long enough to be grabbed by the epilator. However, only a few hairs were grabbed on the first go. It took me over an hour to do each leg and my legs felt raw and irritated after. Two weeks later, I had awful ingrown hairs and bumps all over which I will probably have scars from. I wish I had done my research before buying this one. I returned this one and purchased a highly rated epilator from another brand and I could not be happier. It took me 5 minutes to do each leg and my skin was not irritated and the hair grew back nicely without any ingrown hair. The ceramic tweezers on this Philips epilator are not strong enough to pick up hair and ends up just cutting most of the hairs below the surface which leads to ingrown hair and bumps.

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. Pros 1) The first thing I liked about the new Satinelle Prestige Cordless Wet & Dry epilator was that it is cordless. It definitely adds to the portability and less of cord hassles. I have used Philips epilator earlier and I always had a corded one, so this was a welcome change. The battery lasts quite a bit, I charged mine over a week back and it still has charge though I have used it. It has 2 speeds, of which I mostly used the higher one as I felt that was more effective and less painful. 2) Also it is a wet and dry one so I don't have to worry about the skin being dry before epilating. However, I did find it easier to epilate on a dry skin. For people using an epilator for the first time, it might hurt a bit, but I was okay with it. 3) The epilator results are good, it does give smooth skin on the hands and legs. However the hair needs to be long enough for better results. I epilated some short hair and could feel hair stubs on my hand for a few days, which softened as the hair grew back. 4) The shaving head is good for underarms and bikini line, gives smooth results. 5) The size is portable and very easy to hold. It has 8 pieces and the pouch which is nice. 5) The exfoliator is good with soft bristles which do not hurt and do a good job of cleaning the skin. 6) The heads can be changed easily. It does give a buzzing sound which will be audible in a quiet place, so limited privacy while using it. Cons: 1) While the portability is good, the shaving/epilating head base is pretty small and covers a small area at a time. Hence it is time consuming to cover every part of the body. 2) I wish the pouch was atleast a couple of inches bigger on all sides, definitely does not fit all the parts comfortably. 3) The massager is hardly effective, does not do much. 4) The epilator worked fine in removing hair from the face but it left an itchy feeling for the whole day so I would rather not use it the next time on the face. Overall a great product to have, saves salon time and money, is easy to carry, does not take a lot of space, and gives peace of mind in all situations.

I received the Phillips cordless wet and dry epilator for free in exchange for my honest opinion and review. Here are my thoughts... When first opening the box, I have to be honest and say that I was a little intimidated. The “teeth” on the head looked like something that was going to eat my skin, LOL. The box was really pretty though and seem like something that would really work so I was optimistic nonetheless. I was really pleased to see that there were interchangeable heads that I can use with it, there wasn’t a one size fits all approach to this product at all. After charging it, (which I have to say, it charges really quickly), I turned it on and the sound of it was nothing short of scary. It’s really loud! There are two modes where it can be used in, at first they both are a little painful. You have to go over and area multiple times depending upon how here you are there, but the cool thing is it does have a light on it (so even in low light it still can be used). I preferred to use it wet versus dry, I think it’s a little less harsh on the skin, but the hairs being removed get stuck in it more when it’s wet (that could be because I have more hair in those areas, but not entirely sure). I am super impressed with how long it stays charged though. I’m not exactly certain what the battery life is supposed to be, but I’ve used it quite a bit and only have had to recharge it once. If possible, the only thing I would improve is the sound of it. It doesn’t allow for it to be used discreetly and could be mistaken for something else quite easily, LOL. Overall, I’m satisfied with it.

I finally used my free sample product for reviewing because I didn`t have enough hair growth when I received it. I only used the product dry and was easy to use. I only used the epilator since I needed to compare it to my existing brand, Emjoi. I liked the Satinelle, but didn`t love it. I liked that it was very convenient to charge, portable, and probably great for travel with to maintain touch-ups. The only reason why I said I liked it rather than loved it was because the rotating disks were not quite as fast as my Emjoi. The Emjoi also has gold plated disks that seem to grab hairs more securely (especially really fine hairs) and do not have to repeatedly go over areas so many times. The Satinelle was a solid alternative for me to use as a comparison, but will remain using me Emjoi (since 2001).

Good alternative to shaving or waxing

I have tried waxing before and it’s painful and expensive. I usually shave but it grows back quickly and is definitely a chore so when I was offered this epilator in exchange for my honest review I was happy to give it a try. I let my hair grow out a little thinking it would be easier but I think it make it a little more painful. I first tried to do it on my legs and it didn’t get all of the hairs but then I realized maybe I was moving it a little too fast. When I read the directions and modified the angle at which I was moving it and took it a little bit slower it did work well. I like that it has a light so it makes it easier to see what you were doing. But it still was moderately painful. I tried it on my under arms which was more painful but it did remove the hair very well. I tried it wet and that was less painful. I like that this can be used wet or dry and it does make clean up very easy. I then tried it on my face where I have a few stray hairs now and then. It worked well but again I think using it wet, just after a shower made it less painful than when I tried it dry. I was red and irritated but it went away after moisturizing. My only complaint is that there are a lot of loose parts and different attachments which was at first confusing to me. I did figure everything out by the instructions but I think the parts should be labeled and perhaps make separations in the box for the parts so they can be stored more neatly. Overall, I like this epilator. I think I will get better at it with more use and hope that with more use the hair will not grow back as quickly. I will definitely continue to use it and try more features. Thank you.

I was given a free Satinelle Prestige Cordless Wet & Dry epilator, in exchange for a review. I have been using it for a couple weeks now and I’m a little disappointed. I expected it to be great! But it doesn’t grab the hairs as well as I thought it would. It’s not as painful as I expected, but you have to do the area a few times to get all of the hair. I’d rather have something hurt a little more and be done than have to keep going over the same area. I’m disappointed but it does get the job done if you take the time to go over the area a couple times. All in all, I’d say it’s just ok.

Effective Epilator, Shaver, & Exfoliator.

I received a free Philips Satinelle Prestige Wet & Dry Epilator to test in exchange for my honest feedback. When I first unboxed the device, I was pleased with the shape of the device and the size of the device. The device was wider on the top and tapered down toward the bottom of the device. That made the device easier to grip. The device was a good length and felt strong and sturdy in my hands. It was well built and looked as though it could last several years. The device came with several attachment heads that allowed me to epilate, shave, and trim my body hairs. It also came with attachment heads that allowed me to exfoliate and massage my skin. I really appreciated how multi-functional the device was and how seamless it was to set up the device. The attachment heads were easy to attach and swap out. The device operated smoothly. The first attachment that I used was the epilator head. I did not shave for a few days prior to testing the epilator head, so I had a few millimeters of hair present. I used the epilator head on my legs, arms, and underarms when my skin was dry. The epilator head did a decent job removing my hairs, but I had to run it over some areas a few extra times to fully remove all hairs. I did experience pain when using the epilator head. It felt as though someone was pinching my skin hard. The pain was uncomfortable, but bearable. I found that icing the area afterwards helped. There were additional attachments meant to make the epilation process more gentle, but I still experienced some pain when using those attachments. Even though the epilator head caused some pain and I had to run it over my skin several times to remove hairs, I still plan on continuing to use the epilator head. I actually found it to be less painful than waxing. It also kept my skin hair free longer than other hair removal methods like shaving. The second attachment that I tried was the body exfoliator head. I really liked this attachment and will continue to use it. I used this attachment on my legs and arms. The exfoliator head was more gentle than I expected and did a great job removing dead skin cells from my body. I noticed an immediate difference in my skin texture after using the exfoliator head. My skin felt very smooth afterwards. I only wish the exfoliator head was larger to cover more surface area and make the body exfoliation process faster. It also would have been nice if there was an additional exfoliating attachment for my facial skin. The third attachment that I tried was the massager head. I used the massager head on my arms, legs, face, and neck. According to the packaging, the massager head was supposed to relax my skin, but I honestly felt a bit uncomfortable and tense when I was rolling the massager head around on my skin. I do not see myself using the massager head again, because it really did not do much for my skin. The last attachment that I used was the shaver head. I used it with the trimming comb, because I wanted a closer shave. I waited a few days for my body hairs to grow out before using the shaver head. I used the shaver head on my legs, bikini area, and underarms. I was able to glide the shaver head easily across my skin and I experienced no discomfort. The shaver head did a good job shaving off my body hairs and did not leave me with irritated razor bumps. Overall, I think the Philips Satinelle Prestige Wet & Dry Epilator is a good device to have on hand to help remove unwanted hairs and to exfoliate skin. The only changes I would make would be to increase the size of the body exfoliator, so I could exfoliate a larger area in a shorter amount of time, and I would also replace the massager with a facial exfoliator. I did not find the body massager to be beneficial at all and I think a facial exfoliator would be more useful to users than a body massager.

I received a free sample of a wet dry Epilator to review. I started using it in small area in my legs, and immediately I began to feel the hairs being pulled. I felt slight discomfort in completing my lower legs. I did notice that the stubble did not appear as fast as i would have, if i would have shaved instead. the first couple of day my legs felt smooth, as advertised. I hope the process becomes less painful.

I received this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. I have never used an epilator before so I was really excited to try it! I do know that I hate having to shave my legs every few days. I took everything out of the box to familiarize myself with the product and read the instructions. There was a lot to take in but its really pretty easy once you understand how to use it. Attaching the pieces wasn`t hard but I did get alittle confused trying to figure out how to put on some of the caps because the directions weren`t that clear on that part. Once I figured it out I was ready to start! It has been almost 2 weeks since I first started using it but its really important that you exfoliate you skin before to prevent ingrown hairs! In the box that I received there was an attachment to exfoliate and also to massage. I did use both of those before I started to epilate. I did not use any of the caps or the trimmer yet. If you don`t do it in the shower you should also put warm compresses on your skin to open up your pores so it would be easier to remove the hair. Also it works better if you stretch your skin while epilating. The first place I used it was my legs. Its very loud when you turn it on but you will get used to it. There are 2 settings to chose from. Speed 2 is the most efficient. My first reaction was ow! At first it feels like when you tweeze your eyebrows, but after a while it was fine. I loved the way it took off the hair it was really amazing! The only problems that I had was that it didn`t work that well going around my knees and there were a few stubborn hairs that just wouldn`t come out. You might have to go over those a few times. They did say you should epilate at night just incase there might be some redness that will go away by the morning. I did not have any redness. I went back the next morning to get some of the hairs that I might have missed. I was extremely happy with the results! The hairs grew back much slower than shaving! I will never use a razor on my legs again! I would definitely recommend this product! What`s great about this product is that you can use it both wet/dry! The one thing I would love is if they gave you an attachment to use for the knees!

I had not used a an epilator prior to receiving this product in exchange for my unbiased opinion. The product came very well wrapped and was simple to assemble as you only need to charge it with a plug in and attach the various heads. It is not only an epilator, but has many other options such as razor, body massager and body exfoliator. The epilator also has 2 speeds and can be used in the shower as well as on dry skin. It was easy to hold and manage while using. Using the epilator was simple. Being a new user, I was very dependent on the directions provided. They were very detailed and gave a lot of hints to help make the process easy and effective. I first tried the epilator after using the exfoliator in the shower as described in the directions. The overall process is a bit painful the first time, but I would compare it to getting a wax. My skin was a tad red after using it (which was noted in the directions) but after 12 hours it had gone back to normal. I tried the epilator again using it on dry skin and found better results on the wet skin. Overall I felt it was a well made product and very easy to use. I think the best part is that it can be used in different ways instead of having 1 product taking up counter space. I will be using this product as a razor and exfoliator on a regular basis and an epilator or massage as needed. I also think this is a better option than waxing as you have very little prep time or materials and can easily get your legs hair free while taking a shower. One downside I saw with this product is the price. After some thought, I feel that buying razors or waxing supplies, it would pay for itself in 1 summer season. It is an investment but can easily be used for different options as well as for a longer amount of time. And with it being able to be charged, you do not need to invest in batteries to keep it going.

Phillips Epilator

I received a free epilator to try out. First of all, it's much cheaper than going to the salon and much safer than using a razor or Nair products that have a ungodly smell. The greatest thing about the epilator is the little teeth that spin around. They tend to get all the hairs as long as you are approaching the hair from the opposite direction, even with the smaller head. In addition to that, there are several pros to the epilator. One being the wet n dry features and the fact that it's effective with the 4 in 1 body care. The handle is an easy anti slip grip as well. The pick attachments were all kinds of awesomeness. Secondly, there are pros and cons with any gadget; the con with the epilator is the redness it causes to my skin. Don't try to use it and go out immediately after because the redness of your skin looks like you been to combat. Another con will be the ideal that this gadget head is not as wide. I think if it was wider it would have been able to pick up more hairs. Thanks Philips

Trial and Error in use

I received this product in exchange for my honest, unbiased review. I was impressed with all the features it includes. I was most interested in the epilator. I used it first and continue to use it. It is my favorite part of this and what makes it worth buying. HOWEVER, the instructions are not good on how to use it. You CANNOT use the epilator like a razor or you will get an extreme burn as I did. I literally burned skin off the first time I used it and it took over a week to heal. It was also very uncomfortable and embarrassing. BUT, with trial and error, I figured out how to use it well. I now use it almost daily. So the trick for me is not to roll the epilator over the area, but instead to hold it near the area you are using it on and let it `pick` the hair you are wanting removed. Repeat this until you are satisfied. Do not roll it back and forth like a razor. Speaking of the razor and the other parts and features, I found they did not work. Or if they were working, they were not effective. Because of this, I did not use the razor again because my own disposable razors work better. I gave each category three stars because I have never used an epilator, so I have nothing to compare it to. Also, I also gave three stars because the epilator part is really the only part that worked for me, so do not buy this for anything except that. Since I received this for free for my review, I do not know if I would buy this. It would depend on the price. I really like the epilator, so it may be worth it just for that, but I do not care for all the other features.

I was selected to test out this Satinelle Prestige Cordless Wet & Dry Epilator for free and I was thrilled because I haven`t ever used one before but was very curious about them. This one seems to be a top of the line model so it was almost overwhelming all the different uses and attachments that came with it. I have now used all but the face one, and I am thrilled. I did start on my legs drys which I don`t recommend as it does hurt and I had a lot of irritation and missed hairs. I did it in the shower next and it works so much better, there was still some irritation but it didn`t last near as long and though it also didnt get every single hair it did get the majority of them and they take longer to grow back now than with shaving. I really like the trimmer as well, it works great and is safe and easy to use. The massager isn`t something I would use too often but it does feel nice. the battery lasts quite awhile and charges up within an hour or 2. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that has unwanted hair, what woman doesn`t? It saves a lot time in the long run and keeps you nice and smooth.

I received this product, unsolicited, with a request to provide an unbiased review. My first impression was that it was elegant and well-designed. It fits easily in my small hands, and it is a comfortable weight. This looks almost like an electric razor, and it has a nice bag to store the item and attachments. I tried this first as a hair remover. It has both wet and dry options. I could not see a significant outcome difference between those options (I did one leg in each), but the wet felt more comfortable. When using dry, there was some flaky skin that was unsightly, but it was fine after lotion. It's been 10 day since I used the product, and I have not seen much hair growth, so it really seems to remove hair well. There's a light that comes on when you use it, and this is helpful in highlighting baby hairs or blonde hair. I'm happy to say I didn't seem to miss any spots when using this light. This comes with several attachments and I used the razor attachment on my underarms. I can't say it was an improvement over a traditional razor, but it's nice having an all in one. A minor drawback is that it is a little large for my underarms. This also has a facial scrub attachment. I had not previously gotten on the facial scrub bandwagon, but this was really cool. I felt like I had baby soft skin, and I used it on my legs later too. I had not realized there was a massage attachment. By chance I had tendinitis in my forearm, and this was the perfect size for that. Overall, this was solid, easy to use, easy to store, effective, and it did not irritate my sensitive skin.
