Gets teeth clean but not your mouth

This toothbrush gets the surface of my teeth really clean but it doesn't clean my mouth well. I wake up with bad breath if I eat something strong, with onions or garlic, for dinner. Brushing my tongue with it and using a tongue scraper helps a little but the result is still not as good as with other toothbrushes I used. Other electric toothbrushes are too hard on my teeth though. This one is fairly gentle on my teeth, even at the middle setting so I will keep using it since it's the best option I have for now. It was tedious to figure out with replacement heads to get. I got the g2.

Love this toothbrush. I had one one for almost 10 years that finally gave out. I tried the Quip and gave it almost a year; no where near as good as the Sonicare. The very time I used this new one, I was like, YES finally back to feeling that just from the dentist clean! Got this on the 2-Day sale so it was well worth it!

Sonic refers to the noise it makes

1 out of 5 stars
Targetshopper - 2 years ago
I am afraid this toothbrush will destroy my hearing long before it cleans my teeth. There are three modes: loud shrieking noise, louder shrieking noise, and loudest shrieking noise. After the first use, my ears hurt. That worsened after the second use. Not sure whether I'm willing to try a third time. Also, a 48-hour charge time. What were they thinking? This electric toothbrush is a disaster.

Hi there, Thank you for leaving us a review about your Sonicare. How unfortunate to hear that you are not a fan of the product, and that you found it to be producing loud noises. A solution to this is to regularly clean your Sonicare, especially its metal shaft and power button parts with lukewarm water and a soft, damp cloth, every after brushing. If you find that the performance has not improved, kindly send us a private message on our official social media pages below, so we could fully inspect your device. Please feel free to get in touch via Facebook (@Philips) or Twitter (@PhilipsCare). Alternatively, you can reach out to us via the contact page on our website. One of our colleagues will then try their best to help you further. Hope to speak to you soon! Kind regards, Philips Consumer Care

Ordered this item approximately 2.5 years ago and the toothbrush no longer works. Bought 2 at the same time and the other one is working fine still. Thought it would last longer for the money.

I toothbrush works excellent and I have not had any problems with it. The only problem that I did have was finding replacement heads for the brush. I live in Newfoundland and it was very hard to find the replacement heads that correctly fit my brush. After a few times on the site looking to find the correct number to look for in the brush heads some one finally give me the correct number and I was able to find them at Walmart.

I’ve been a fan for quite a few years using other models of Sonicare. I’d like to see a texture ( maybe rubber) on the handle to improve grip. I tend to cringe when purchasing replacement heads as they are expensive. I do like the end result of using the brush and I haven’t had a cavity in over 10 years.

Donne la sensation d'une grande propreté. Décidément bien davantage efficace que l'Oral B de Braun. De plus, sa charge se conserve plus de trois semaines même si nous sommes deux à utiliser la brosse.

I have owned several more expensive Sonicare models and liked them very much. HOWEVER, everyone has just stopped working about a year after the original one has been replaced! Philips really needs to build more reliable devices or extend the warranties. Now, at around $200 for a TOOTHBRUSH, one would expect them to last more than several years.FWIW!? Also, your “rules” about how and what we should write in our reviews is unbelievably arrogant and offensive. If you want honest feedback, it is insulting to tell YOUR customers how to behave.

My regular dentist recommended an electric toothbrush and I ignored her...had no interest in something buzzing in my mouth. But when my oral surgeon recommended an electric toothbrush to save my gums, I caved. Bought the Phillips toothbrush for gum health and NOW, I will never use anything else. Formerly, my teeth only felt this clean after a dental cleaning, its marvelous. AND my last trip to the dentist took much less time because of their excellent condition. Have been recommending it all over the place.

After flossing and brushing for 2 minutes with the sonicare, my teeth and gums feel great. I use a soft gum brush with a speed of 1.

This toothbrush makes all the difference! My gums have stopped bleeding tremendously even after a couple of days. You can noticeably see a difference using this vs a normal manual toothbrush. I think everyone should have an electric toothbrush. An investment in this would save you loads of money in dentist fees. I wish i had bought one sooner. The only thing that's slightly annoying is switching between the high, medium and low speeds. When you press the brush on once and try to set it at a different speed, sometimes it thinks you're pausing it. But overall, fantastic toothbrush.
