[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Black SoniCare Serie 9500 (HX993B/220425) was a replacement/upgrade from my SoniCare Series 4900 (HX369WL/220627) which failed also under warranty, but was no longer available for replacement. My black series 9500 Diamotoothbrush worked beautifully for about 2-weeks, & then abruptly failed. It’s replacement, my current Lunar Blue Series 9500 Diamond Clean toothbrush (HX993L/220570), has also just failed in the SAME WAY as the two prior toothbrushes—working beautifully for 2-weeks, & then abruptly failing. In my opinion, the Sonicare Series motherboard needs to have this FATAL FLAW discovered and corrected—as there is NOTHING WRONG with the standard electrical wiring in my home!

However, the app connectivity is intermittent. Some days it's great and others it just isn't happening. I enjoy the app when it does work, as I can follow my cleaning and see where I need to clean more thoroughly. I feel lost when it doesn't work.

You can only buy after-market small size brush heads now - so if you don't use the ones that come with it - then the microchip technology is a mute point and not worth spending more for this model. I wish I had known that.

It can tell where you are brushing and you can follow prompts for better brushing techniques. It also has a reminder for when to change your toothbrush head. I would definitely recommend this toothbrush!
