Poppies Pink Ruffles - Set of 5 Roots - Van Zyverden
about this item
Oriental poppies (Papaver) are long used by gardeners in a range of landscape situations. Planting poppies is simple and rewarding when their blooms appear. The clumps will become larger each year but will never be invasive. They can be forced indoors with special treatment. They also make for stunning cut flowers, but you will have to sear the ends of freshly cut stems with a match. As they have appeared on ravaged battlefields, they have come to symbolize death and rebirth. Papaver orientale 'Pink Ruffles' produces a cheerful display of huge, satiny flowers in spring. Pink Ruffles has deep, salmon-pink flowers with unusual, fringed petal edges. The blooms attract butterflies and make excellent specimen plants. Poppies are also deer and rabbit resistant.
