Assembly was a nightmare as expected with these mass produced things. Holes don’t line up and you have to manhandle things to fit. Direction pictures can be confusing. It looks nice and it’s sturdy, but it took 3 hours to put together myself.

Ive spent 4 days now trying to put this thing together majority of the holes dont line up and its actually taking a toll on my life at this point. So much worse than any ikea furniture ive had to build. Giving 2 stars bc the design is cute but just know assembling this thing will ruin your life.

Item damaged upon arrival, one of the doors completely fractured in half. I knew this was a major possibility after reading other reviews and decided to take a risk. What a shame, they should be giving these away for free at this point. If you do order, I recommend taking a part packaging very slowly and inspecting each piece before assembly that way it’s easy to pack back up when you discover a damaged portion.

I was hesitant to buy this because of other reviews talking about issues with parts arriving damanged and assembly being difficult, but I'm glad I bought it anyways. If you're used to assembling Ikea furniture, it really isn't any more difficult than that. It took me about 2-3 hours to build it by myself. There are a few spots on it that are scuffed up, but nothing bad enough that I would return or try to get replacement parts over. Overall I'm glad I bought it (but glad I got it on sale vs paying full price) and love the way it looks in my space

Probably just don’t buy this like most reviewers mentioned. It’s a cute shape and concept but unfortunately now I have damaged furniture in display in my home. Will try to add decor to make it look rustic but overall disappointing. Return options weren’t realistic for me once I hired someone to put the piece together. My piece is scratched on the front and top, most important parts. R door doesn’t close. Oh well! Hopefully this review saves someone else the trouble.

Great look, but back pieces are impossible
4 out of 5 stars
Cnewman - 10 months ago, Verified purchaser
This is a great looking piece! The entire main piece was pretty easy to get together with closely following the directions. However, like a lot of other reviewers stated, getting the cane pieces on is a PAIN! The pre drilled holes on the back pieces do not line up AT ALL. Out of the 4 total, I was able to only get 1 screw in, and that’s because I somehow pushed it to where it popped inside the main piece. The other side made me get bruises on my knees from propping the entire thing at an angle on my legs and trying to push with all my weight to screw them in, even then I was still about a half inch away from the hole and just managed to create a half screw hole on the edge of the piece, which is luckily on the inside at least. I even unscrewed multiple other parts to see if that little bit of extra give would let me be able to get that back piece into the proper place. The front doors were a bit of an annoyance as well, adjusting them to where they closed properly without a lot of overhang took me probably an hour per side, which I get is to be expected somewhat when dealing with a curved piece, and it’s still not perfect, but good enough for me at this point. But for a $400 item, I feel like there should be better quality control…the price should actually be more like $275 in my opinion. I’ll now need to glue, or figure out another way to keep that back side closed. Other than a few other small nicks in the wood, which aren’t really noticeable, I love the look of it which is why I gave it 4 stars still.

If I could give this a zero, I would. Big fail, Target! First shipment was wrong item. Second shipment, the piece is damaged and cannot be assembled. Then your CS agent wants me to pack it up and return it to store! What would have been a beautiful piece is junk now! Never again, big fail!

This piece is so gorgeous and worth the money. We did not have any issues assembling it and think the quality is great. We got the dark brown color and it is so pretty and rich—a statement piece! Love the shelves for decorative objects as well as cabinets.

Beautiful piece but defects and design flaws...

Was eyeing this stand for awhile and finally pulled the trigger. The assembly process was rough. There was a chipped corner on the shelf facing out the front (but not bad enough to return it). One of the holes on the divider piece was halfway filled with some kind of solidified liquid (finishing? sealant?) and I was not able to stick a bolt through the hole. The other divider piece had one of the holes in the completely wrong location. It was a frustrating process but I did not want to deal with a return. I solved these problems by drilling a hole in the correct location and drilling out the solidifed liquid stuff. One more thing to mention is that the hinges on the doors will not line up flush out of the box. One of the steps in the assembly guide is to adjust the hinges until you get it all lined up. This is a pretty difficult task to get it perfect and honestly feel that the hinges could be designed better or pre-configured out of the box. It is a beautiful TV stand, as long as you don't mind putting in some work or encountering some defects and design flaws. In my opinion, worth it looking back but don't want to go through it again.

Beautiful but quality is not worth the price

I really want to love this piece. It is so beautiful once assembled, but the quality and pain of assembly is not worth the price. The caning was broken on one of the parts (wonderful customer service from target in getting this remedied via phone!). As I was assembling, I kept noticing imperfections, which were frustating given the price. It was also HARD to assemble. I moved last month and have assembled no less than six pieces of furniture in the past 4 weeks and this was by far the hardes... and that includes a dresser! If this piece had been closer to $200-$300, I would say worht it, but it was over $400. I recommend choosing a different option. That being said. It is assembled and beautiful and returning it is hard so I am keeping it.

This was a PAIN to put together. It took hours, the holes weren’t drilled correctly so most of the screws didn’t fit and had to work around the build rules. It’s a nice piece of furniture but I would rather pay more money to not have to deal with such bad QAQC and the time it took to build. If it wasn’t a pain to take apart I’d return it. Do not buy!!!! NOT WORTH IT!

I’m so glad I ordered this before reading reviews. DO NOT LET THEM DETER YOU! My mother and I built this in less than 2 hours. Only part we “struggled” on was the stupid Alan wrench! Doors were the easiest part of the whole project. One side of the table the door holes didn’t perfectly line up, so that’s when two people are needed for this. All we did was have her push on the door to line it up more as I screwed it in. Only other “issue” was one of the holes for the hinges wasn’t perfectly aligned. But with a little maneuvering even that was handled. Also, there are not two tops or two bottoms. “A” and “M” look very similar, but they are different I promise. My little living room is about 122x96 and this stand fits great! It’s absolutely adorable. Again, took us less than 2 hours. Something none of these reviews talk about WARNING: the box it is delivered in is heavy as all heck. I think the hardest part of all of this if anything was getting the thing up my steps! I would absolutely recommend getting this stand. Don’t let the reviews deter you. I did not receive incentive to write this, I just felt like I needed to write an honest review. She is so stinking cute!!!

We bought it without reading the reviews. Target has not addressed the issues that have been known with this product for months now. We got it delivered and quickly realized that we got two top pieces and no bottom panel. Above that, there are no drill holes to attach the middle posts to the bottom or top. Absolutely do not waste your time by purchasing this item.

I am so happy with this stand, it came in great condition and all the parts it needed. My only complaint is that some of the holes weren’t drilled thoroughly and made screwing in some of the pieces a bit of a hassle. I assembled this alone so it took around 3 hours. Directions are pretty good with the exception of it failing to bring up the step of attaching the backboard. I didn’t realize until the end that it needed to be put on WAY before i finished. I ended up cutting and hot gluing it on instead, don’t make my mistake!

I read all the reviews that said this was impossible to build and went into it knowing that. At first it wasn't too bad, until we got to the back of the doors. People were right, initially the screws don't line up. What you have to do is unscrew the middle bar where the screws go in and screw the bottom of the door in, then screw the middle bar back to the console, then do the top screw. It does still taking two people to push and pull until you can see the holes align, but they eventually did. Now we love it, but definitely was not an easy build.

This is a beautiful piece. The color is beautiful and it is very solid. My issue is that the rattan is not very well made. The Rattan has broken in multiple places randomly leaving holes. There is no way I have found to get replacement doors or side panels which is disappointing. More disappointing that I need to replace them already.

The piece of furniture looks beautiful online, but stay far away from it. I was so excited about this when it arrived until after 2 hours of building it, the doors were all different sizes and would not fit. We lined up the doors side by side and the measurements were completely off. Not only did Target not offer replacement parts, they made us take it completely apart to return the product for a refund. I was very unimpressed by the Studio McGee line especially since she always offers beautiful pieces. I would not recommend this piece even if it was on sale.

We are pretty skilled at putting things together, but this was a tough one. Took almost 6 hrs with two people. Luckily we have plenty of tools and were able to address some of the issues with pilot holes ourselves. The instructions are also incorrect in a few places which caused some rework. Now that we have it put together, we're happy with it. Looks great completed but proceed with caution.

The piece once together is great! The assembly was absolutely terrible. I had to have my husband force two pieces in place so I could get a screw in because of alignment issues. It probably took around 5 hours for me to assemble this and I’m not new to furniture assembly. Overall, if you have a lot of free time and don’t mind being incredibly frustrated halfway through the final product is nice.
