I borrowed one which was at least 5 years old and I loved it so much I had to order one for myself. To assure myself that I was getting the same high quality in the new pot that I found in the borrowed one, I contacted Presto directly. Customer service could not have been faster or better. They even contacted their engineering department to assure me that the same high quality materials were still being used. The only change was the addition of a second over pressure valve with an audible warning feature in the center of the lid. It came with a trivet and a steamer basket. The unit was very affordable. I have cooked a range of recipes from the great, full detail, easy to use manual. It gets my highest recommendation. I ordered it delivered to my local store. It came a day earlier than predicted and was in perfect shape. Don't know how I've cooked for 56 of my 74 years without it. Who knew?
Box was delivered to the store. It wasn't till the box was brough home and unpacked did we realize that one handle was cracked and other parts completely broken and missing from the box. Will probably never order something online from Target again.
My older Presto was hard anodized and served me well for many years before I burned the food in it so badly that I couldn't wash it off without damaging the surface, that's when I decided to buy a new Presto. This stainless steel new version is fantastic, it's durable, easy to clean, looks good on the stove, easy operation, and requires less cooking time my older hard anodized pot. I used it only once so far, but next time I will use the time guidelines according to the enclosed booklet, it retains and holds heat very well, cooking foods faster than my old cooker. This time I didn't follow the instructions and used the time I accustomed to with my older pressure cooker, so I overcooked my meat slightly, however, it still came out very tasty. Stainless steel has tendency to discolor a bit due to acids in foods/sauces, but it's fine with me because it's a natural process and doesn't leach or affect the taste of your food. I soaked the pot in warm water, then used soap with soft sponge and it washed off easily without need to scorch. I do not recommend storing or keeping food in this cooker to avoid extensive stainless steel discoloration on the inside. Instead, transfer food into a storing dish as soon as it cools down a bit and is easy to handle, and soak/wash it immediately. The insert steamer/basket seems a little too small, but honestly, I haven't used it yet. My older lasted me 10+ years with no issues and I expect no less of this one as well. I love it and highly recommend it to others.
I ordered the pressure cooker as a gift but I goofed the person wanted a pressure canner. Not target fault but mine. Was pleased with delivery and ordering process. Sure it's a great product just the wrong one.
I have used pressure cookers forty years. This is your basic stove top variety. It is easy, very quiet and good quality. Just what I was looking for and at a reasonable price. The instruction and recipe book is a bonus you don't expect these days, thank you presto for not disappointing!
