When I opened the box, my first thought was, the size of this looks like it's just what I wanted... that was until I saw the size of the frying basket... it's SMALL. I am in love with egg rolls, so that is what I fried up 3 days in a row. The first day, I could only get 1 egg roll into the basket, and that I did not like. On day 2, I bent the frying basket so that I could get 2 egg rolls in at a time, and that made me a happy camper. On day 4, I fried up Butterfly Shrimp and OMG... so much better fried in oil versus baking them. On day 5, I fried up French Fries and they tasted so much better than being cooked in the oven. Every thing I fried, was for one person... me. I would say that this is a fryer for one person only. In order to fry all of the items I fried up, I had to fill the fryer to the 6 cup maximum line with oil. At first I used the minimum line of oil and it wouldn't cover the egg rolls. Clean up is very easy as everything is easy to wash up by hand because it all comes apart. I purchased an "oil pot" that came with a strainer, and I am going to purchase one more, to use for frying up shrimp and breaded fish. When I first put the basket into the hot oil, it wanted to lean to the left, leaving one of the egg rolls not covered enough with oil... it still does that, so if I hold the handle of the basket in place where it should be, then put the cover on while still holding the basket handle, it then stays in place... I may have to do a bit more of bending. If you can't get 2 egg rolls in the basket, or 2 corn dogs, then push the front of the basket out with your fingers, and you can shape the basket to hold at least 2 items, placed side by side. I love this fryer! Love love love it! The only complaint that I have is that you can not see the minimum and maximum lines. The container that the oil goes into, is black in color so the lines don't show up. Before I put the oil into the container, I ran my hand around to see if the lines were raised up, and they are. The lines are on the left side, so just run your hand over that side and you'll feel the minimum and maximum lines. I wouldn't bother using the minimum line of oil, the 4 cup line. Use the maximum line of 6 cups and that should cover up all of your food. I used Crisco Vegetable Oil and by keeping the fryer cover on, I didn't smell oil hardly at all. It is so great to not have to clean up splattered oil every where! The cord is weird. It is short, and it's magnetized. It will only go into the holes one way... you have to sort of push it in. I didn't have any problem of it falling out. Did I mention that I love this fryer? Now I need to buy a freezer so that I can buy lots of egg rolls LOL Donuts are on the agenda for Sunday... Woo Hoo !!!
