Q: Is the paper stick part flexible or rigid?

submitted by Jayws - 2 months ago
  • A: We use specially wound and rolled paper for our sticks, which is manufactured to retain form and to allow for flexibility and safety in use.

Very disappointed in the current quality of q-tips. Last couple boxes have less cotton on them and the amount on each end of the swab is inconsistent & insufficient.

It doesn't come apart like the foreign brands. Definitely more quality control. I use them to dry my ears after showering. I am partially deft. My hearing aids stay cleaner and dryer. The only choice for me.

Poor quality control

I’m 62 years old and have used Q-tips my entire life. Within the past year or two I have noticed a substantial drop off in uniformity and quality. Some of the Q-tips come with almost no cotton head on one end or the other. How did these pass the sniff test? I would like to say that it was Few and far between, but that wouldn’t be true. Every box I get has numerous Q-tips in it that are substandard. What happened to this company?

Has less cotton than it use to

I would never compromise my Q-tips for another brand because the other brands were cheap with the cotton. But now Q-tip is doing the same thing. It felt like just a stick in my ear! I might as well buy the off brands from now on! They are cheaper with the same amount of cotton.

No more Sticks

In my 45 years of adult life, I have always bought Q-Tips cotton swabs. In recent years, I have noticed how there is less and less cotton on the tips. No more, I'm not much for poking a stick in my ear.

Sloppy workmanship - no pride in your product

I have used a box of Q-tips each week for the last year (no exaggeration), and I may have to good part of the rest of my life. I never realized how inconsistent and poor quality control Q-tips really has. I get on the regular: irregular Q-tip sizes, no cotton on sticks. Sticks stuck together, cotton stretching off Q-tip, particles of cotton dust all over Q-tips, and i am sure I don’t have all I have seen. I never noticed before I had gotten this disease and I am sure not many others do because they don’t use Q-tips excessively. I hope you do some quality contro; and fix it. I am a long term customer if you do

The quality has really gone down over the past few years, less and less cotton per tip. There is barely enough cotton on to absorb anything now. I'd be happy to pay more for a better product. These are awful.

Got Worse

The last 3-4 boxes I bought had cotton wound wrong on one end and it just sort of hangs off of it. So, instead of the usual 1 swab I end up using 2-3, because that end is not useable. Definitely not buying this brand anymore. Very disappointed, as they used to make a quality product before.

Q Tip used to be great , however if I wanted cardboard sticks I'd find some, your product has gone way down hill , for the price we are paying you should try and at least put a little cotton on your cardboard sticks.

I use Q-tips everyday and am always very happy with the quality. However, this last pkg. I bought has one side just fine and the other side doesn't have enough cotton on the tip and the stick protrudes through the cotton and hurts my ear. It is very consistent on only one side of every Q-tip. Hoping this is a fluke pkg. and the next one in this pack of 3 will be better. Otherwise, this will end up a large supply of art materials.

I have been a faithful Q-tip buyer for many years because they always had plenty of cotton covering the ends but not anymore. One end is not too bad but there is always one end that is basically a stick. I thought I got a bad box so I bought another one to try and it is exactly the same. I'm going to have to try other brands, I can't waste my money when I can only use one end of the swab, it's very frustrating.

Decrease of quality

The quality of the last two packages of q-tips that I bought have significantly decreased from ones in the past. There is very little cotton on the swab and hurts my ears when I clean them. The stick comes through the cotton. I have been loyal to the q-tip brand because of the generous amount of cotton, but now it’s not worth the price.
