Q: There is conflicting information on this page. I have some questions: Is this stone quartz or Himalayan Salt? Does it have antibacterial properties like Himalayan Salt? Where is the quartz from?

A: I see this was posted already in the Q&A. White Himalayan Crystal Mineral Salt is generally found in the outer parts of the salt mine. White Himalayan crystal mineral salt has low iron content in the crystal. As a Salt Lamp, white Himalayan Salt has the same healing properties as the pink salt lamp, when heated it releases negative ions that purify the surrounding air.

Q: This IS white quartz though, right ? Does it just have the familiar Himalayan salt lamp glow or is it a mix of white quartz and Himalayan salt crystals ?

Received tonight and will be returning ASAP. This thing is old, busted and used. The connection is bent (warped) and it also doesn’t stay plugged in unless you move the plug that inserts into the wall. The switch looks old and has crumbs on it, as does the lamp on the bottom side (food stuck on the wire). There’s black marks on the lamp as well. The paper that came with the product was crumpled up and put towards the top of the box. The box was put into my bag upside down and the box wasn’t fully closed -_-. Box looks tattered. Someone might as well just thrown it against a wall to see if it stuck and repeatedly stepped on the cord to bend it. Beyond disappointed and inconvenienced. Someone needs to be checking products when they’ve been returned in order to prevent future customers from purchasing items like this. I thought I was buying it NEW. And I did the store pick up if anyone is wondering. This is the type of thing that irks me. Hopefully I can buy a NEW one that hasn’t been used and it won’t make the insurance I purchased null and void because this was something that was carelessly checked prior to being purchased again by a different customer. Shouldn’t have made it back to the shelves.

Like that the switch has a dimmer on it. Be careful the stone does get hot if left on long enough. If you use essential oils on it clean every time or you’ll get some residue on the wooden base.

At first, I really liked this lamp. However, after about two months of use, the dimmer switch stopped working. Since I couldn't control how bright the lamp was, it was always in "the brightest mode," and the dimmer switch would get extremely hot. The dimmer switch never got extremely hot when the lamp was working properly. I stopped using it since it seemed unsafe to do so.

I’ve been very picky on my hunt for the perfect salt lamp and this is it! My only complaint is I’m not a big fan of the dial but otherwise it’s wonderful! I like that it looks like clear quartz and gives off white, not orangey, light. Highly recommend this.

It looks so nice. Obelisk cut. Love it! So I see a few people complaining about things. 1. It's a salt rock lamp, not glass. It's going to have character, not shiny & clean. That's the point. 2. Salt lamps suck humidity out of the air, so if it's wet, it's from the outside. Just wipe it down & it will be fine. 3. Yes, it will glow yellowish. It's the mineral composition. Much less color than the standard, but it will have a light tint. 4. Yes, they get warm. No they will not get burning hot or explode.
