Please Bring Back the Old Recipe!

My pup has severe food allergies and this was the only food he could eat with no problems. Since the change in November 2022 that was not well advertised (hello no notice on the new bags) we have been struggling to find any sort of kibble that he could eat without daily vomiting, excessive itchiness, and horrible skin rashes. My dog is no longer the happy boy he used to be because his gut is so out of whack- please please PLEASE bring back the old recipe. I have spent 100s of hours scouting the internet and pet stores for something that fits my boy’s particular set of allergies but there is nothing available. I’ve resorted to home cooking meals but it is not easy or financially smart with the amount of supplements and probiotics he needs just for a balanced meal. I beg of you, listen to all of your customers and bring back the old Just 6 recipe.

Several years ago my Rat Terrier lost all of his fur. We tried multiple foods with no luck. Even allergy shots! It was suggested we try Rachel Ray Just 6. The outcome was amazing!!! No more shots!. We have been using Limited Ingredient with no issues, but now it doesn't seem to be available anywhere. I keep seeing "back ordered"? Please help!

My Irish Setter absolutely loves this food and he has an extremely sensitive system so this has worked well. My only issue is that I can't find it anywhere anymore.

This was so great when it was the just 6. My dog loved it! He would get so so excited about his food. Still have a small amount left but now I have to change his food because he’s allergic to the ingredients in the just 9. For everyone else that is looking for a new food… I’m changing over to natural balance lamb and brown rice. Just about the same ingredients as the just 6. Does have higher calories per cup just a heads up!

Was Great until 6 became 9! Contains chicken!

I’ve been feeding this to my dogs for several years now. We were so pleased as it had limited ingredients and did not contain chicken. Chicken is a known allergen for many dogs mine included. Finding a food that mine were eager to eat with ingredients they could tolerate was a huge plus. Until they changed the food from Limited Ingredients (6 limited ingredients to the current 9 ingredients) with nothing being mentioned on the front of the bags that chicken is now an ingredient! It may seem insignificant but it’s like adding nuts to a product and not highlighting that formula change to include a known allergen. This product is also currently extremely difficult to find at the typical stores that once carried it.

Changing a 6 to a 9 and calling that communication enough is hot garbage. The larger bags didn't even change the appearance of the bag. My dog is having an incredibly adverse reaction to the addition of pea protein. Totally unacceptable for a limited ingredient dog food to change the ingredients. That sucks so much I hope you get sued. I'd straight hop on a class action for that.

I've been ordering 2 of the largest bags weekly for our pets due to their allergies. They have all been miserable the past few weeks and I was blaming the change in weather and here I find out you are no longer grain free. Why didn't you let us know that you changed the formula this is very deceptive. I am not happy at all. I'm very upset 😡

This was the only food my dog could eat as he has bad allergies. The change in recipe has me looking for a new option that is chicken free. Sad customer, me and the dog!

I really wish I was aware of the changed before my dog ate it and got sick. He can't have chicken, including chicken meal. Very upset, it took so long to get his food right and limited 6 worked great, but limited nine is not fine. It's a shame you'll be loosing my business.

My dog is allergic to peas and pea protein, why change the formula? At the very least have some kind of warning on the label that it was changed.

We are truly sorry to hear that this recipe no longer works well for your dog and we empathize with you. As you've mentioned, our Limited Ingredient Lamb Meal & Brown Rice Recipe was reformulated in November 2022. The update included the addition of chicken meal and changes to the fiber source in the food (moving from dried beet pulp to a combination of peas, pearled barley, and grain sorghum), along with minor updates to the vitamins and minerals to maintain a complete nutrition profile for generally healthy dogs. Please know that reformulations like this are absolutely integral to ensuring our recipes always meet or exceed all current AAFCO Guidelines in order to provide pets with recipes that are 100% nutritionally complete. It was great, until chicken meal was added (one of the worst allergens), and switched out beets for starchy peas. Bad moves. Prob saving the company money, but not helping pups at all
