Q: is this good for a 13 year old?
submitted by Someone - 2 years ago
A: The MX650 is intended for ages 16+. It would be up to the parents' discretion to allow a child under the recommended age to ride based on skill and ability. However, we also have the MX350 available which is intended for ages 13+ and may be a better fit.

The battery is not very good and it does not go very fast so I recommend a new 36v lithium ion battery. Not hard to set up. But I have had this bike for atleast 4 years now and it never brakes. This thing is so beat up and still runs great but if you do go off road with it the battery life runs out fast and it’s pretty slow. Overall bike is indestructible.
Great and really fun but...

It's great and really fun but the batteries have to be replaced every year. You can't do wheelies because it immediately dies. Highly recommend better option than the surron and way cheaper. Great for 10 and up pretty small if adult. If have the money go and upgrade it with a brand new 72 volt battery and motor and motor controller. You need to figure out how to write it because it handles differently than a normal bike.

Huge waste of money. The MX650 cost a lot of money I didn't have, so my son saved for a long time to buy it himself. He only used it about 10 times and it stopped charging. I bought a new charger from razor and it still won't charge.

The mx650 is the most fun I’ve had on any bike, but some downsides include, stock forks, as they bottom out. Brakes, as they burn out quickly. Swingarm, as the rear shock dents the swingarm hole over time. But any other than that, really fun!!

We purchased for our then 10 year old, and it worked fantastic for about a year and half. Now the motor is not engaging and there isn't anything that can be done. So an EV bike is great until it stops working and then it becomes like a big screen TV [disposable]

We purchased two bikes, the MX 650 and the SX 500. The 650 made it about three months before it wouldn’t hold a charge. We replaced everything but the motor in it and it still doesn’t work. The 500 made it about five months and it’ll hold a charge now for about 2 miles. My opinion, the bikes are a lot of money And don’t last long.

This is my first dirt bike and still is fun to this day crazy fast on the road but the smallest bit slow in grass or uphill But fun My batteries did die out but I fixed it. it was not that hard and is cheap to fix I recommend getting mighty max batteries made for mx500/mx650 If your batteries die out fun is so fun that I destroyed some of my mother's backyard riding it so much. the top of the line razor mx 650. great for kids 12 and up. helmet is a necessity. charges quickly and lasts for 30 - 50 minutes depending on tertian and weight of rider. assembly is simple and all tools are included. takes a out 20 minutes to assemble. then you'll need to charge it 8 - 12 hours before the first use.
