Play it through a couple times when you get it to make sure it doesn't have any pressing issues. Disc 1 B side had issues. Tried a record cleaning brush but same issue. For a brand new record at this point I returned for a replacement. Hopefully that won't have the same issue.

I love this album but my vinyl is skipping tracks and doesn’t sound right. I’m so disappointed and target refuses to give me my money back.

I got this album and it would skip on Poster Child. I exchanged it for another album and same issue. Over all great album, but sucks that one of the songs skips. I also needed to widdle out the hole a little bit so it could fit on my turntable.

This Album is simply AMAZING!!! I have already listened to this Musical Masterpiece in its entirety, from start to finish, at least 30 times!!! With John Frusciante back after a 15 year hiatus, the Album has a beautiful melodic sound to it that has not been heard since 2006 when the last Studio Album (Stadium Arcadium) that John recorded with R.H.C.P.!!! From super Funky one track to a Romantic Melody on the next track! You have a difficult time putting this Album down just as I have had!

Excellent album every song is very good and will only get better it is comparable to stadium arcadium and at times I like this album better. I’ve been listening to the first half more often so my preference is the first 6 or 7 jams. I’m sure this album will go down as a classic for me reminding me of the old STP Scott Weiland days where I enjoyed every song. Poster child is my fave so far my kids like aquatic. Salud

This album marks the return of John Frusciante on guitar and they sound just as awesome as ever. Flea has some killer bass licks throughout! The album is pressed on beautiful red vinyl (appropriately).

Just picked this up, aaaaand I have some thoughts… For starters, the mastering is incredible. Ryan Hewitt mixed this to 1/2” tape and Bernie Grundman cut direct. All analog baby, just the way it should be. It’s dynamic and powerful, all good on that front. It’s one of the best modern productions I’ve heard in a very long time - perhaps since the Hoffman mastered Stadium Arcadium! I can’t say enough good things about it. On the other hand, the Target exclusive red vinyl pressing leaves a lot to be desired. I initially thought it was pressed by GZ - who, for the record, are capable of VERY good work - but I see now that it was actually pressed by Precision in Canada. To be fair, Precision basically *is* GZ, or at least closely operated under their auspices. But this doesn’t really stand up to the quality of anything I’ve gotten from the czech plant. It’s a thin record, stamper centering leaves a bit to be desired, and there is severely audible non-fill throughout, in addition to generally pervasive/unpleasant surface noise. The records are also packaged in horrible printed paper inner sleeves - you really should clean these discs and slip them into MoFi inners straight out of the package. Never insert them into the provided inners again, for the records sake. From the standpoint of the pressing itself, this is one of the worst slabs of new vinyl I’ve bought in years. The production was so top notch and above average - the way I knew Frusciante would INSIST upon - it’s just a shame that these noisy pressings are how that otherwise great work is presented to the world. I will try to exchange this particular copy, but I don’t have very high hopes I’ll get any luckier the second time around. I got the Target variant because I thought the red color suited the album well, and I had a couple of gift cards burning a hole in my pocket anyway. But if you really love the album and want a better listening copy I would suggest buying the record elsewhere, somewhere you can get one of the copies pressed at Optimal.

The first track BLACK SUMMER is probably going to be the single most memorable song on this album down the road. This isn't to mean that it's the only good song on this, but it'll probably be the only one that might get stuck in your head. Also, music in general tends to be a reflection of the ongoings throughout the world at the time their released. Ukraine war, Covid-19, another sketchy president, celebrities dying almost daily. The world isn't in it's best state right now and so it doesn't offer much inspiration to musicians and here like with other recent albums it can be seen in that not too much of it is uplifting. It's somewhat catchy and RHCP has a generally favorable style that's still here, which is probably it's most redeeming quality, but again, it reflects the ongoings within our world so how uplifting it is is very limited. Also even accepting this it's probably still overall very average for this group. If 45's were still a thing I'd say just get the single of BLACK SUMMER. I will say that with the rising popularity of vinyl if you are getting the album to get the vinyl version, as opposed to the CD version.
