DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Within few days the iron started getting a gunky build up on the surface, I tried to clean it but I didn’t come off completely and continued to build up to the point it started to stained my clothes. I should’ve returned it back then… 5 months after purchased it completely stopped working. It’s too late to return or do anything. I am so disappointed! For the price I was expecting higher quality and I thought I would last longer.

Have been using this iron for 3 wks & it’s great! The steam is very strong & you can control how much steam you want with a dial just for steam level. It’s a little heavy but not a big deal when I fill up with water. When I’m ironing no water dripping which is what my old iron was doing. Four of us in my family are using it & every one loves it. Don’t second guess on getting this one! You’ll love it too!

Too heavy, hurts my shoulders and arms after a few irons. I do have arthritis in my hands and arms, soo it may be okay for others but for this price and weight it’s not going to work for me.

This is a good iron because is steams very well and gets plenty hot. I seem to need to clean the soleplate a lot so I don't know if I am a bad ironer or what. My first use for it was to make drapes and linen roman shades, so it got used quite a bit.

When my 4 year old Rowenta started to leak I thought I would try the Chi 13109. I am a quilter and use an iron almond it daily. I was somewhat excited with the ceramic soleplate. Worst decision ever. Within the first few days I started getting a gunky build up on the iron that I couldn’t clean off. It caused the iron to drag when pressing quilt squares. I use 100% cotton, almost exclusively. Today I switched back to my old iron. I’m just so disappointed.

I had the Black and Decker version of this iron for 10 years, which slowly fell apart on me. I went ahead and sprung for this CHI iron, even though it's 3x the price of the current B&D model, for two reasons: longer (retractable) cord, and adjustable steam. I've been making a lot of masks during COVID, and they lay a lot nicer when ironed, so I figured if this really worked better for me, it'd be worth the extra $$. Brought it home, and it really is quite nice right out of the box. I like the pointed tip for getting into tight corners, and the variable steam and soft, diffuse spray is pretty great. I did burn myself with the steam burst, whoops! If it lasts 5+ years of 1-2x/week use, I'd say it'll be worth it!

I took about two months before I wrote this review. I wanted to make sure I gave it a chance. This iron is good however it’s terribly overpriced. I purchased a $50 iron for my sis and it works the same. The extra steam holes are there but don’t produce any more steam than the other irons I’ve had. I will say 8 times out of ten I have to manually guide the cord inside when pressing the retractor button. The ceramic bottom is just okay. I was expecting my clothes to iron out faster and to have this professional look to them. I haven’t had that experience yet. Ultimately, I paid $40 for the brand name. Otherwise this is a pretty good iron. All in all, the price is the problem with this particular iron. Would I recommend it at this regular price, absolutely not. If it were 40 or 50% off , yes I would.

Great iron for the first year

I couldn't have been happier with this iron for the first year I owned this iron. But then I noticed that it didn't seem to get the wrinkles out as easily- it took several passes or pressing for several seconds at a time and even then, it just wasn't performing like it should- I don't think it was heating up as hot as it did when I first bought it. I press a lot of fine linen and cotton and I need an iron that makes the job easier. This iron seemed to do that- but only for a short time. I only used the steam feature with distilled water a handful of times and at first, it gave a powerful shot of steam and never leaked. But, after speaking to other sewists and discussing the lifespan of irons and issues of performance, I started using a separate spray mist water bottle to increase the life span of the iron- thinking that the calcium build up in irons was a likely cause of performance issues. I had a GE iron for 25 years before I had to replace it. My next 2 irons lasted 18 months and a year. I really wanted this iron to last me several years and took care to unplug it instead of letting it go into stand-by and cooling down. It fell short of the 3 year mark and I'm resigned to the fact that nothing is made to last anymore. I actually feel guilty about recommending this iron during the first year I owned it.

I was a little hesitant in purchasing this iron, bought it and and fell in love with it. As soon as I brought it home used it and on the first press the wrinkles were gone. Heats up very well, didn't have to go over my blouse twice. I'm very satisfied.
