    This Rowenta steamer is built to last!

    I've had a few steamers in the past, and they were always smaller and had tiny tanks. Sometimes I'd have to stop using it in the middle of a garment to refill. It was time for me to get a steamer that's made to last with a bigger tank. Boy was I surprised when this was delivered. It's a little bigger than I expected, but in a good way. It's got a nice little weight on it, and it is POWERFUL. The steam never sputters and the 5 settings are perfect when I want to use it as an iron. I can't believe I waited until I'm almost 60 years old to find the perfect steamer for my needs. Also, even though it says tap water is fine, I use distilled water in all my appliances because my state is known for exceptionally hard water. This way I don't have to worry about descaling.

    Poor product design

    Steamer works great, but the container to hold water leaks and is difficult to remove. This lasted about a month and a half. Will not be purchasing another Rowenta product.

    Sputters terribly

    I really wanted to like this item. After all, the name recognition is desirable. This iron is terrible. First of all, it's really just a steamer. You cannot use it as an iron in the traditional way. Water sputters out even in the vertical position and your clothes will not be wearable that day. I called Rowenta customer service. They told me they are aware of this "water evaporation" issue. They suggested that between ironing strokes I wait 5-7 seconds if I have to put the iron down to position the clothing item. Seriously? I even bought a steamer rack and that did not help with the positioning and sputtering. Very disappointed. Went and bought a traditional iron a couple of days later.

    This actually works!

    Heats quickly and works well!

    I mainly purchased the steamer for some new drapes that I ordered online. They were pretty wrinkled and I wanted to be able to press them while they were hanging. It worked so well, and I know I’ll use the steamer regularly on other curtains and gatments!

    So fast and easy to use!! LOVE IT!

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] WOW. This thing is so much better than I anticipated! When I unboxed it, it was bigger than I thought it would be, and I was worried it would be unwieldy. The water tank is not huge so it actually didn’t end up being too heavy. Very versatile and simple to use, the instructions were quick and easy. My fiance has a heavy wool kilt that has been in a drawer for a year, but he wanted to wear it to Ren Faire tomorrow, so I decided to give the Rowenta steamer a shot. Despite the thick fabric, the steamer took care of them SO FAST. I used it in “iron” mode, so the kilt was flat and I ran the steamer head directly on the fabric. We were both amazed and how quickly the stubborn wrinkles just disappeared!! This thing is magic! I used about 1/4 of the water tank steaming this garment.

    Much better than an iron!

    This is very quick and easy to use! Takes the wrinkles out of my clothes easily and I don’t risk burning my clothing! I’d recommend using distilled water if you have hard water.
