Description

From baby to big kid, the Continuum 3-in-1 car seat is there for your family through three different stages from 5-80 pounds.
This adaptable car seat can be used in the rear-facing position from 5-40 pounds, and includes a comfy grow-with-baby pillow to give a smaller baby a snug fit. The pillow easily removes when no longer needed. Once in forward-facing mode, the Continuum keeps your child safer in the harness up to 50 pounds. When your child is ready to transition to vehicle seat belts, simply remove the harness to use the Continuum 3-in-1 Car Seat in belt-positioning booster mode all the way up to 80 pounds.
In both rear-facing and forward-facing mode, harness holders keep the harness in an open position. This makes it easier for you to get your child in and out of the car seat.
The Continuum is simple to clean with a machine washable and dryer safe cover that removes easily from the seat.
The Continuum is designed to provide more comfort to you and your other adult passengers too. It takes up less room when placed rear-facing, giving up to 7 inches more leg room for grownups in the front seat.

Q: Does it come with a car seat base? Do we need one to use this car seat?

submitted by Mommy16 - 6 years ago
  • A: The Continuum 3 in 1 car seat does not come with a detachable, stay-in-the car base like an infant car seat. The base is a recline base permanently attached to the car seat.

  • A: No you do not need a base

submitted byejones - 6 years ago

Q: Does anyone know what kind of clips are used to secure it in the car? Are they they quick release clips? Thank you

submitted by Jmom - 6 years ago
  • A: They are clips but not what i would consider quick release.

  • A: The Continuum 3 in 1 car seat comes with a hook style lower LATCH strap. It can also be installed using the vehicle seat belt.

Q: With this seat in the rear-facing, second (middle) recline position, what is the measurement length from the front of the seat to the top of the headrest? I need to know if this will fit behind the front seat in my small vehicle.

submitted by MElyMommy - 5 years ago
  • A: I have placed this car seat in that position in my Honda Civic, no issue.

submitted bySierra - 5 years ago
  • A: Hello. In the second recline position, the Continuum measures approximately 19.5"H x 29"L x 19"W

Q: Is the hollyhock color a pink or purple?

submitted by Victoria - 5 years ago
  • A: It looks just like the online picture. It's a pinkish purple like magenta or fuchsia, but more purple than pink.

Q: Will this seat fit in an Audi A4? I bought the safety 1st grow and go 3-n-1, but it’s too large for my car. Therefore, I need something slimmer

submitted by SGBeauty - 5 years ago
  • A: I love this car seat! We have an older Toyota Corolla which is pretty small, and it fits perfect! Not bulky at all!

Q: does this car seat work with a stroller? or do we have to buy a stroller and another car seat for an infant

submitted by Lilrose60 - 5 years ago
  • A: The Continuum 3 in 1 is a convertible car seat and not compatible with a stroller. Typically only infant car seats can be used on a stroller.

submitted bySafety 1st Product Expert - 5 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: This is the very first carseat i have ever bought for my child, after reasearching we decided to buy this instead of the newborn carseat with the stroller since they grow up so fast. This is not compatible with the stroller this is too big for it, you might have to buy the right carseat that is removable from the carseat to stroller. I am lucky some friends gave their used stroller for my baby to use.

Q: how many years is the car seat good for when does it expire

submitted by triplet - 5 years ago

My fiancé has a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500. We purchased this car seat specifically for his truck. Unfortunately no matter how you try to install it when rear facing it does not work. We even had a certified car seat tech attempt to install it as well and still had no luck after 3 hours. Even after putting my full body weight (145lbs)in the seat and tightening the seatbelt it is still too loose and ends not passing the "1 inch moving test". The whole carseat tips over. We are very disappointed. Unfortunately we threw out the packaging and are unable to return it or we would have. So for now the carseat is just taking up space in our garage.

Love the snug fit of this seat in my vehicle, I have leather seats so other seats tend to move even when tightened and this one does not. My daughter loves the new view she has while in the vehicle as this seat sits higher and am also now able to see her in my rear view mirror. Super easy installation and easy to adjust head rest and harness. The cup holder is a plus and removes easily for cleaning. Can’t say enough great things- will likely get the same the seat for my husbands vehicle! Only complaint is the noise the harness buckle makes when my daughter is not in the seat-the metal latch at the bottom of the seat dangles and I can hear it over my music-but other than that I feel this seat is safe and perfect for our family!

I feel like his head is too much forward making it awkward for him to be comfortable. Having a helmet is worse so that’s why I give it 4 stars. Other than that it’s great !

Pros: Nice looking seat with plenty of support, yet sleek enough to fit in vehicle. The chest strap is nice and wide, and the buckle is easily used. Cons: For Rear facing option the anchor strap was very difficult to tighten. Even though I pushed the button down, It seemed to get stuck at the same point on the strap, leaving the seat dangerously loose. The strap and button had to be forced just to tighten the strap. Now, I cannot adjust the level of the seat because I won't be able to tighten it again and My son seems uncomfortable in the seat.

We used this as a spare until our daughter got older and the infant seat became difficult to carry around. I didn’t think much into after my husband installed it. Then we were in a wreck and thank God we were all okay but I became more aware of car seat safety. We replaced with the same car seat And it DOES NOT TIGHTEN! We thought it was just our car but it didn’t work in our other car, my mom’s or my mother-in-law’s. Even at its tightest, it still moved a good 3 or more inches in the seat. This seat is not safe!! Please look at other brands. I truly want our money back! I would give a 0 if I could!!

Great purchase-did a lot of research & this was by far the best deal price wise for what we were looking for. It was a little hard to get buckled in so it stayed tight but we’ve had that issue with every car seat we’ve ever had so nothing new there. It’s a new purchase but so far it’s working well & easy to get our daughter in & out of it.

Difficult to get seat tight enough in the car with latches. I can't pull it tight enough for it to be comfortably safe. My husband can't even do it! Also tightening the child in is a task! For us we had to pull on the strap from the back of the seat and then pull on the lap belt to be able to get it to tighten. On a side nope I did order a replacement through warranty so I'm hoping this one will work properly!

Very hard to get the seat tightened properly in my husbands 2010 Taurus and my 2012 Santa Fe. Then once we felt OK about getting it properly installed, found it almost impossible to tighten the harness enough to keep my child safe. Straps would tighten and loosen easily without my daughter in the seat, but when we sat her in there, could not for the life of me get the straps tight enough to keep her safe. Called the Safety 1st customer service to let them know and they gave me details on how to destory the car seat in order to get a new one. Hope the replacement works!

At first it was easy and it was great then as my son got older it was harder to keep it properly installed. Every turn we made my sons seat would turn fully to the side like it was never strapped in. I tried to continuously fix it but it didnt work. I also have another one of your seats that does the same
