  • A: Hi JesG, I believe what you are describing is a feature called Auto Motion Plus, which eliminates ghosting and blurring that occurs from fast-moving images. These motion smoothing settings look great on live TVs, like sporting events or parades, which are filmed at 30 frames per second. Most movies, however, are filmed at 24 frames per second and are not intended to be viewed with these features. When turned on, this causes the dreaded soap opera effect. To Change Motion smoothing settings on your TV: Navigate to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings > Auto Motion Plus Settings (Picture Clarity Settings). 1. The default setting is Auto. This means the feature automatically turns on and off based on the type of program being watched. 2. Awesome picture, great TV, the reason for 2 stars is who puts only 2 HDMI ports on a tv let alone Samsung the leader in TV industry. 1 is ARC for soundbar so essentially the TV has ONLY ONE HDMI port so now i have to switch my cable box and firestick, just a bad engineering decision.

Good budget 4k TV

Good budget 4k tv. I use this TV in my main living room. Once you change the color settings, the picture is very good. I took a bit off the saturation, bumped up the sharpness a hair and messed with a few other settings and its great for everything. I play video games on it too and it never skips a beat. Hardly any noticable input lag, quick response time for gaming and it supports Xbox series X's upgraded HDMI on outlet 2. All around, yeah, I wish I had an LG C3 or G3, but this does completely fine. No issues. The interface is pretty laggy, but that's just about all smart TV interfaces under $1000. Target mobile app won't let you upload pictures over 5mb but the picture is very good and sharp on 4k.

Poor picture quality 4K

This samsung tv is by far a huge disappointment as far as picture quality. In normal light in a video, it looks fine but if there are dark room scene everything just looks smudged, it's not detailed can't tell where it separates from a person's hair to a shadow. If you increase the brightness and contrast then the whites are acting the same. Need more control over backlighting, black and contrast. The expectation for a 4k TV from samsung is disappointing. At least for this specific model. I've always had samsung brand TV, I know the quality and this is not it. Will be returning this TV. Unless, samsung can update with additional picture quality controls.

First, let’s ensure you are running the latest Firmware Update. Go to Settings> Support> Software Update. Next, If the colors on your TV are correct but just a little too dark or bright, you can try adjusting Picture Modes, Contrast, Brightness, or Sharpness settings. For darker scenes, I recommend Dynamic Picture Mode, which makes pictures brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments. Go to Settings > Picture > Picture Mode > Dynamic. Or you can manually adjust the Brightness by pressing the HOME button on your remote, then navigating to Settings > Picture > Expert Settings. You may also want to disable Power Saving Mode, which automatically adjusts the brightness to reduce the TV’s power consumption. Go to Settings > General > Eco Solution> Power Saving Mode. Bought this TV 3 weeks ago? Love it. No where does it advertise that it programs 330 off air channels. We have basic cable with our internet. The best we could do with an amplified roof antenna was 12 stations. Perfect TV for us folks out in the country with poor off air reception.

Just got this tv yesterday and am already kind of regretting it. Picture is great but the sound is awful. I was watching a movie last night and my daughter complained how loud it was (sound effects and music) but I could barely hear the dialogue. Tried all of the sound settings (there are only 3 unless you know how to use the equalizer). My old Hisense had a speech sound mode that was amazing and I sorely miss. Also, random side fact, why does the volume number take up so much screen space when changing the volume? There’s not much on this thing you can customize and am a little peeved I’ll have to spend money on a sound bar and voice remote.

Owned it for a month now. It has a decent picture after you figure out the settings that work best for your environment. There is a setting in a place you wouldn't look for it about Auto Exposure or something like that. Set it to LOW or OFF, or the picture is much darker than desired. At least it works that way for our environment. The preinstalled Apps are great, if you have those services, they are front and center on the Apps bar. It's not easy to move them if you don't use those services. Almost impossible to rearrange them to put the actual apps you use ahead of them in the bar. Our previous 43" Samsung suddenly stopped working after 3.5 years and went to a black screen that turned itself on for 2 seconds with sound no picture, then off for 4 seconds, then on for 2 and off for 4. We'll see how long this one lasts. I compared this one and the higher priced Samsung 50" and there was very little difference, if any, between the two so I went with this one.
