[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the 5 despite an unhappy experience with the Active 2 which lasted only one year. I hope this will last longer.. it has all the features I need but the battery life is still too short compared to some other smart watches I tried

Exchanged my Watch Active 2 for the Watch 5, and I somewhat regret it. The battery life lasts just a bit longer than one full day, and that's if I have the screen brightness down, limit the amount of notifications it gets, and keep the always on display off (I have it set to where the screen turns on when I move my wrist up to look at it.) I can stretch the battery life to maybe a day and a half if I turn on battery saving mode, but when you do that the screen doesn't wake when you move your wrist to look at it. I am used to better battery life, because I could easily get 2 and a half days out of my Watch Active 2. I'm also not entirely sure of the accuracy with all the health stuff on it, like the blood oxygen sensor. Maybe it'll improve with updates down the road or something. Long story short, it might not be worth the "upgrade" if you're thinking about it. Unless you have a super old smart watch, or can get a great deal on the Watch 5, I'd wait on the "upgrade."

What is Samsung thinking by not including charging brick??? Are you still trying to copy Apple??? At least let us order them with a deep discount at time of purchase!!! Disappointed with battery life. Miss the turning bezel from my two Samsung watches!!!
1 reply from Social Commerce team - 8 days ago
Hello, thank you for your feedback on your Samsung Galaxy Watch5. In an effort to reduce electronic waste and be more environmentally friendly we no longer include the charging adapter with your new devices. However your previous generations of Samsung Galaxy Watch charger will charge your new Samsung Galaxy Watch5. You can also purchase a charging adapter to maximize the fast charging capabilities of your device. This device does also come with a digital bezel that will function similiarly to the physical bezel of the Samsung Watch4 Classic. Please feel free to reach out to us at any time with further feedback or questions regarding your Samsung products. -Elizabeth Samsung Community smsng.us/Samsung-Community Facebook smsng.us/Facebook-Messenger Twitter smsng.us/Twitter-Messages

The bezel is too big. It's a watch 4 with a huge bezel. I upgraded when the update bricked my wearable. Sucks the 5 is all the same except a huge bezel.

Had the 2 which I destroyed in a jet ski accident (my bad, didn't set the water mode to on) Love the battery life on the 5.... extremely disappointed the you cant transfer the watch faces you previously purchased to this model.... (what worked on the 2 does not on the 5) Less selection in watch faces. Voice volume seems lower as well.

Worth the upgrade from the watch 2

Upgraded from watch 2 40mm to watch 5 44 mm (both bluetooth only). Had the watch 2 and was hesitant to upgrade because of the reviews on the watch 4 about battery life and performance. Glad I waited for the 5 because it did not disappoint. Battery time works the same as my watch 2 if not longer sometimes. I use it primarily for the time, calls, notifications, emails, timers, and alarms. Work days I get about 2 and a half days sometimes 3 if I remember to turn it off at night. When I don't work I get about 3 and a half. The charging is fast and it syncs well with your galaxy phone. I love how the maps functions work between the two.

Crap battery

I bought this watch and have used it a week and the battery won't even last through my 8 hour shift when charged at beginning of my shift. I have returned the watch. If the battery would last a couple days it would at least be worth it then. I had to do it into watch only mode and would still barely make it though 8 hours.

A great evolution over the Watch 3...

5 out of 5 stars
GS2005 - 18 days ago

I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 classic 45mm to this newer model with the aggressive trade in value Samsung was offering. First, you can learn to live without the rotating dial navigation, it was less difficult than I imagined. The new design is a little thicker than I prefer, but I get on average use, 36-48 hours on a single charge under light-to-moderate use which is welcome. The sapphire glass looks great along with the Titanium body which is something I wanted to try with my prior Watch 3, but wasn't an option. The biggest improvement really is the Samsung-tweaked WearOS, the visuals are dynamic and smooth plus the application support and turn-by-turn on Google maps is great to have. Beyond the basics, the screen is plenty bright and the volume is loud plus the screen resolution is higher over the Watch 3. Lastly, the two-toned wrist strap is good, I chose "sand" which goes nicely with the grey titanium watch color. The only thing missing is a battery protection feature that Samsung has been included with their latest smartphones, hopefully they will add that in over firmware so that I don't have to watch when my Watch 5 Pro battery tries to charge about 85%. There are numerous features I am still getting used to and that's a good thing. Overall I am very content with this Watch 5 Pro, the T-Mobile LTE signal works very well and the Watch 5 Pro has a lot to offer!

The 5 was a gift to my aunt to use for steps and sleeping and she hates it because of the charging and battery issues. Charging cord that came with the watch is useless. Battery life is worse than the 4. I've spent 3 days with my aunts 5 on my right wrist and my 4 on my left wrist, getting alerts and using it for calls. The 5 has less battery at the end of each day.
