Description

Designed with versatility at its core, the SARIS MTR (aka: modular track rack) can transport a variety of bikes and can be easily customizable with add-on trays to bring your whole collection of shredders or ride-share with friends. Roomy wheel trays hold bike tires up to 5 inches wide, while dual-arm wheel holders keep bikes locked in position – and keep the paint chip-free. It’s all built on a hitch-based foundation that can be tilted even when fully loaded for fast and easy vehicle access.

GREAT RACK FOR A PICKUP TRUCK

I use my bike rack on average three times a week so having something that doesn't interfere with my truck being used like a truck is huge. Its a real pain in the neck when you have to constantly take the bike rack on and off. My previous rack didn't allow for the tailgate to be opened without interference and stuck out far enough that when you needed to load lumber or drywall you were hitting your shins on the rack. Not a great experience. With the MTR 1 Bike the rack is compact enough that I can open the tailgate and the rack fits snugly under without touching or protruding. This makes the house remodel and weekly hardware store trips I am doing much more enjoyable. As for the rack the hitch wedge makes the rack rock solid in your receiver, when you use a wrench, and my XL slacked Enduro bike fits with room to spare. It looks great and works amazingly well for all of your off-road two wheeled toys! The rack is expensive but it is worth the money if you use the rack as much as I do.

Love the rack. Locks lengths are spooky.

Rack is solid. It's been getting use for the last 3 months and so far all is good. My only beef is with the length of the cable lock for the bike itself. I'm always a bit worried on car rides if this thing is gonna ding up my rear shock. That being said so far it has yet to been an issue (knock on wood). Otherwise it's an awesome rack for my steed!

Save your money and get a different rack

I bought this rack from my local bike shop and waited a few weeks for it. They installed the rack and showed me how to use it. When I got home I put my bike on it and was appalled. This rack is very unstable. I was genuinely afraid my bike would hit my rear window. I took a little video and this is only a little bit of movement done by my hand. I took my bike for one drive and was scared of the handlebars hitting the rear window. Every time I pressed on the brakes I watched it go near the window. Michigan roads are littered with potholes and I never took my car on the freeways or offroad for fear of something happening. My bike is a fairly light weight Trek Procaliber so I am not exceeding any weight restrictions. In addition, there is a bit of play in the racks trays and the pin that makes them go from expanded to compact. I tried with only a little force to pull the bike out of the rack and with with a bit more force it could when not using the safety strap. I took the rack back to my local shop and returned it. I have worked hard to buy my bike and the last thing I want to do is damage my brand new car as well as my bike. The expandable wedge however was great, there is no play there whatsoever. I also feel like the lock on the cable is cheaply made. Other locks the key slips right in but with this I had to jimmy it around for a while. The design in theory was good but lacks in execution.
