Schwinn AD6 Airdyne

This would be a great bike except the seat wobbles around no matter how much you tighten it. This was mentioned in several reviews but I hoped it would be ok. Nope!

I had a 30+ year old schwinn AD3 that finally failed from years of use. I thought it was a great purchase (it was!), but my new AD6 is so much superior that I regret I didn't upgrade sooner. I really enjoy the workout I get from my AD6 and would recommend it to anyone. #sweepstakes

I use my Air Dyne 6 twice daily. It is a very good workout. Emphasis on work. It seems so easy but I am spent when I'm done. I absolutely love it. No regrets purchasing it.

I have used Airdyne bikes through high school and college wrestling. They are low impact but highly effective at building cardio. Now that I'm near 40 the low impact is important for me since I am squatting and deadlifting regularly. When I was researching exercise bikes I compared the Rogue Echo and the different Schwinn Airdynes. I have used airdynes, assault bikes, and the rogue echo and I prefer Schwinns over the rest. The are more comfortable and have the ability to stand up during the workout. The the features and price point of the Schwinn Airdyne AD6 matched what I was looking for. The bike shipped quickly and was easy to assemble. The bike is noisy due to the fan but that varies with intensity and only matters if people are listening to something around you. It matters for me only because I use the AD6 in my living room. The other issue is the monitor stops to quickly when peddling is stopped. It has messed up a few sprints during my Tabatta workouts. Now when I don't stop and slowly peddle it works great. The bike is extremely comfortable and effective. I use it for slow steady state and interval workouts. It completely crushes me during interval training and feels very sturdy during the entire workout. The resistance is unlimited since the harder you go the more resistance there is. I currently have my son working on the bike to get more conditioning for football, while keeping the impact low so he can continue to lift heavy. The Airdyne AD6 is a perfect exercise equipment for any fitness level and can grow with personal improvement.

6 days a week before strength training. Getting back on track after a concussion and lower back injury. More strength every day.

I have used Airdynes for over 30 years. This is my third model. I literally wore out the last one. I probably put close to 2,000 miles a year on the bike. Observations: The latest fan is quieter but it is also smaller. It feels like there is less resistance than previous models. Thus I find myself needing more pace to get the same workout. I feel like the arm extension has a slightly longer reach. This is a little less comfortable and really requires a bit of shoulder turn to punch out to full extension. I have never been a fan of the airdyne seats. They are too big and bulky. They really force a slight knee spread so that the knee alignment becomes incorrect. I always change the seat to a more conventional cycling seat.

I use it as part of our simple garage/driveway home gym to supplement yoga, walks, weight training etc

I use the AD6 almost everyday for at least 20-30 minutes. I'm trying to build endurance to go longer. It's great for fat burn

Seat not correctly installed. Bolts do not stay tight. Uncomfortable to pedal.

I have used the AD6 for two weeks now. It replaced an older version. I cannot keep the seat level; it tips forward and down somewhat when I pedal. The tools shown in the assembly manual were not left behind by the installers (nor the immobilization strap). I can tighten the lock nut beneath the seat with another wrench that I have, but it will not hold the seat fully secure during each use.

I love this bike. Best cardio machine ever made. Only issue I have is the seat tilts forward and doesn't stay tight. The type of workout that I do only requires me to stay on the bike for a couple minute intervals or less so I can continue to adjust the seat. But it gets annoying because every time you start to go hard the seat slips forward. This still would not stop me from buying it again because it's such a great cardio workout.

Had an airdyne comp for 20+ years. A little different feel but still enjoy the workout. Poor ergonomics on the cup holder & led consol. Seems to be designed for people 5 feet tall and under. I had to build a bracket to raise the consol, and cannot reach/use the cup holder. Nonetheless, always a good workout.

I like using the Airdyne AD6 for a variety in my workout schedule. I wish the seat was more comfortable.

I bought my first Schwinn Airdyne Evolution Comp bike back in Jan 2001. I loved it, but just recently the parts have started to wear. I didn't think twice about ordering another Airdyne bike (AD6). Amazingly, I paid the same price that I paid 21 years ago. The Schwinn bikes are very well made and provides an excellent workout. I don't want all the bells and whistles of other bikes, nor do I want to pay the higher prices. So far, I'm very happy with my purchase!
