My son’s shoe size is youth 5, and these skates with smallest adjustment seems perfect for him. His first comment after a few laps was “awesome!” It’s easy to wear skates for kids with the bands. It’s been a few weeks since the purchase, and he skates at the link 1-2 hours, about 4days a week. So far so good. Only the thing is that the laces get messed up by getting caught by Velcro.
The skates were ready for pick up in the store within a few hours of the purchase and the price was less than the other nearby stores. The exterior of the inline skates looked great and seemed sturdy. However, the wheels did not roll easily so we returned these. They were supposed to be a Christmas gift for my son but I had to go out and search for another pair.
I bought these for my 10-year-old. They were the only ones that were at our store that fit him. He was having trouble with them so I tried them on. I grew up rollerskating and rollerblading and these are by far the worst skates I’ve ever worn. The rentals at the skating rink were much better. These could not get tight enough around the foot and were hard to control. The break was plastic rather than rubber and although it got worn down in one day, it did not help stop you. Definitely a waste of money.
Having read the reviews and after purchasing 3 pairs, I discovered that their wheels have been updated. The first pair I bought had clear wheels and were like hard plastic. My son kept slipping sideways on pavement and couldn't stay upright well. His buddy, for whom we bought the second pair, had black wheels that were softer, more rubbery, and he had no problems skating. I returned my son's skates and purchased a third pair which have the black wheels. Much better!
These are great because they're adjustable, but if you get these plan on upgrading the wheels. The wheels that come with this simply don't rotate at all. Also, it says the maximum size for wheels is 64mm, but I put on some 72mm wheels and they seem to work fine.
