Would be cool for the bike it fits

Doesn't fit Schwinn Circuit 28" with disc brakes. The predrilled holes don't allow the rack to be in the right place and clamps are too small for this bike. Would be a cool idea if it does fit your bike; I couldn't tell until I bought the rack and tried it.

Installation was crazy easy. Took me five minutes, and didn't even need the instructions. The rack even extends to accommodate small and larger bikes.

Great item and very adjustable. Holds a small bag perfectly and stable thanks to provided hardware. Highly recommend. This thing or any other rear mount bike rack is not meant for high weight items, but perfect for a lock and some extra cargo space!

Mounting hardware is awful

Unless you already have mounting holes on your bike frame or have the thinnest bike frame ever made, don't bother with this rack. I have a 700c Schwinn Solara (another Target bike) which has mounting holes for the bottom legs but not for the arms that secure the rack beneath the seat, above the brakes. The mounting brackets included are ridiculously small not to mention the screws too short to even secure the rack to the bracket. Sure I could buy separate brackets but the fact that they thought the tiny brackets they included were good enough feels very sleazy. Obviously Schwinn is a company that aims to make affordable equipment but this is just insulting. Definitely going to return.

The rear rack is designed to fit most bikes, although it won't fit every bike. Our metal brackets have a little flexibility to open and close around the frame to help prevent scratching the frame during assembly. The screws have a few centimeters extra length to allow for a range of frame sizes. Please give us a call at 800-626-2811 Mon-Fri 8-5 CST. We'd be happy to help determine if the width of your frame is wider than the ability of the included brackets. Thanks.

Good rack. Not awesome, not bad. It seems sturdy enough for regular use. I wouldn't go putting cinder blocks on it. It helps keep rain water and mud from splashing up my back also. Overall recommended.

This rack is just the think to keep the mud off your back if your bike has no rear fender. If you have a short bungee, you can attach a jacket or water bottle or whatever you need to carry. It's also a great base for attaching a bike bag. (Mine was installed at a bike shop on a Trek hybrid bike, so I'm not aware of installation problems.)

pretty easy to install but you have to make sure it's straight before you secure and tighten all the hardware. works as expected. study fit my hybrid well. no need to any drilling. if you doen't the attachment bosses on your bike near the seat on the frame it came with universal attachment pieces. great little rack .

Not an easy install

This was not an easy install. Like other reviewers said, the parts did not fit my Schwinn Median. I thought about returning it but I bought it when I bought my bike at a store an hour away and didn’t know if the local Target would accept returns from another store. First, the clamps were too small for the Median. I bought ¾” rubber clad clamps and also replaced the hex screws with Philips screws since a screwdriver is easier to turn than a hex wrench. Once in was eventually assembled (actual install time, not counting running for new parts, was about 1 ½ hours), and all connections tightened, it is still not very stable. I don’t plan on putting much weight on it because I just don’t trust it. It won’t come apart because it uses lock nuts, but still, I’m not comfortable with it’s stability. I can’t use the post mounted rack because I had to move the seat down to the bottom so there’s not post space to mount it. The parts themselves are good quality but the mechanical design leaves much to be desired.

Hi tdr902 - we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us. The photo image of the packaging isn't right. This rack doesn't mount to the seat post. We're working on updating that image and looking into this. Thank you
