This holds my fine and somewhat thinning hair in a finger-wrapped bun just fine. Use common sense—if you are lucky enough to have a full and thick head of hair, these probably aren’t enough for you. They’re perfect for me—someone whose entire ponytail is significantly smaller than most women’s PIGTAILS. See picture.

I’m now wondering if the wrong item description has been posted for these (will report so Target will hopefully fix), since they are described as “large” with measurements of 4.8 by 3.5 inches.
