how to measure

finding your shoe size takes just 3 steps.

  1. Stand with one bare foot on a piece of paper.
  2. Mark the paper at the back of your heel bone & at the end of your longest toe.
  3. Measure the distance between these two points in a straight line, & repeat the same steps for the other foot.

If one foot is longer, use the larger measurement to find your shoe size by referencing the size chart above. If your measurement is in between sizes & the shoes don’t come in half sizes, please round up to the next size.

Q: Is the sole soft like the see kai run Ryder II sneakers?

The See Kai Run Basics Tenny sneakers has a full TPR rubber bottom, so it will be slightly heavier than the EVA foam outsole used in the construction of our Ryder II sneakers. However, the TPR rubber outsole on the Tenny sneaker will provide a bit more durability and traction due to the materials used for this style of shoe. A similar Basics shoe style to compare with our Ryder Flexirun sneaker would be the Spark Lace, as this style is also constructed using an EVA outsole. Our Spark Lace sneaker style can be found on-line through Nordstrom Rack, Kohl's, Belk, and seekairun.com. Thank you!

Q: I know you have adaptable shoes in your line, but do these shoes fit well with SMO's also? My son wears 8wide in Billy Shoes, I don't like the zippers. They are consistantly coming unzipped.

  • A: Thank you for reaching out! Our See Kai Run Basics Tenny shoes may work with your son's SMO's. It will depend on how much additional width is needed around the ankle area. You also might need to go up a size or two to accommodate the additional needed width with this particular sneaker style. If possible, we would suggest having your son try them on in person at Target to see if they work out! Our Adaptive line (available through seekairun.com) has longer velcro straps built into the shoe to help accommodate littles who need additional support in their shoes with the use of orthotics.     These shoes are a very cute design and we love the flexibilty and the wide toe box, but they are NOT durable in the slightest. Noticed wear on the front toe in first hour which was a red flag. 30 Days later, they can no longer be worn. I heard great things about the brand, so I was optimistic, but honestly was a waste of money.

    Poor Durability

    My toddler has worn this brand since he started walking. We loved them previously. The wide toe box is great, they are flexible and breathable, and he likes the colors. Previous pairs have held up really well. However, this last pair that we bought has worn out QUICKLY - like, within a month. The shoes fit great but the toe area/sole is already very worn through and I'm going to have to get him a new pair of shoes. I have loved this brand but I won't be buying again.

    Cute but not durable

    Cute shoes. We definitely needed to size up. However, they are not durable and do not last. We bought these as my son’s main shoes for school and the front was immediately all scraped up after one day and it’s been about 6 weeks now and the whole front of the shoe has almost completely worn away.     manufacturer pls make it wider !

    I like it because it is soft, and looks like comfy. I bought it on promotion when my son still little. There’s still room between the shoes and my kid’s toe. But I hv a difficult time to put it on my kid, every time. The length is right, even there’s still some room to the toe. but the width is not fit. Too tight too narrow. So I put it on my kid with a bare food. A few time later it started to smell. I even cut off the line just to loosen some space if possible. It made with good material, you Hv to try this shoes on the spot, don’t buy too early or gifted it without trying.

    Not Better than Original See Kai Runs

    I like the original See Kai Run better than.the Basics because they hold up better. The Basics also fit slightly smaller than tbe original. I'll continue to buy the original, however buy these in a pinch when my kids feet have grown overnight and I need to pick up a pair.

    defective piece

    really bad experience. 3 days after my toddler wore these to daycare, the back of the shoe sunk inwards and doesn't retract back. it's become unusable. it probably was/ is a manufacturing defect. but there is no way to hold them accountable. I tried taking it back to the store since it had been barely a week since the purchase but the customer care refused to exchange since the shoe had been 'used'.

    Cute shoe but poor quality finish

    Like other reviewers have said, the shoes don't hold up well. The material on the toe area started to wear off after only 2 days of light wear. I previously had a different color of the shoe that held up better, but not the pink color. I would not buy again until this issue is fixed.
