I have bought two of these in the past few years and the only reason i had to replace it was that i dropped it and the self cleaning part came off a bit and i could not get the bristles back in place sense the bristles went under the self cleaner. The design of the brush is great and the self cleaning works great, but my dog won’t let me brush her because the bristles are way too sharp. I tried it on my own arm and I don’t blame her not wanting to be brushed, it hurt! It might work on dogs with thicker fur, but the bristles bend very easily. ...see moreof the reviewer's review

Great brush for more short haired jack chi. I thought the wires would be harsh, but I tried it on my own skin before his and they are not painful if the brush is not used harshly.

Its a great size for my chocolate lab, her skin is sensitive so the hard wires are a little hard for her but thats the only complaint that I have, i wish the brush was a little softer. The auto hair removing feature is AMAZING!!
