By far the best vacuum I have ever owned. Ever!

I have had this vacuum for 9 years (maybe a little longer)! It gets put through the ringer - my long hair and a cat who is constantly shedding...add to that a son who doesn't vacuum until he really has to. LOL A few years back I thought we killed it, but it turns out I hadn't been washing the filter like I was supposed to. Doh! Worked like new after I washed it! Amazing! Now this weekend it kept losing suction. Thought this time it was really it. Even started looking for my next Shark just in case. Washed a 2nd filter (not knowing if I even should do that) and let it dry overnight. Working like new again! Truly amazing! I remember the first time I used it. It was a fairly new place to us that we were renting and the amount of stuff it picked up was so gross! I have been impressed ever since! (Although...I am a little disappointed I didn't need a new one...they have two brushes now and the brushes are self cleaning now! So fancy! LOL)

irritating to use

When using the attachments the handle doesn't swivel so it's awkward to use. It falls over very easily. The canister is too small and dirt aways gets stuck inside due to the shape of the inside of the canister. It does have powerful suction, but so do others that are easier to use. It's 2 years old and I'm going to throw it out and buy something else.

Hello, We would like to thank you for taking the time to share your review of the Shark Navigator® Lift-Away® Vacuum. We are always looking for ways to improve our products. When using the handle hose for above floor cleaning, we recommend holding the handle on top of the dust cup while cleaning with the other to prevent the vacuum from falling over. We hope that you decide to try another Shark®. Should you have any questions regarding other Shark® vacuums, our product specialists are available at 877-581-7375, Mon.-Fri. 9am - 9pm ET | Sat. 9am - 6pm ET. The Customer Support Team

Very powerful suction, however, very hard to push on area rugs! (not good with back issues) Love the ease of using the hose!

Disappointed

I bought this because my current vaccum (Dyson) is too hard to manuver and when I try using the hand held tools, the vaccum suction is so powerful it causes the vaccum to run me over. The Shark Navigator is much easier to push/pull on the carpets, as there is not as much suction power. However, when using the hose w/attachments, the vaccum falls over on me. Also disappointed that there is not enough room on the vaccum to carry the 4 attachments.

I was given this vacuum as a gift last month. When the power to brushes on bottom works, it does a great job... For some reason I have to turn handle left or right to get power to brush to come on.

This was very happily received by the couple who requested it on their wedding registry. Have yet to have received a report after it was used!

For the last 10 years I've been using a Dyson vacuum that cost twice as much as the Shark navigator. I got used to seeing a ton of junk sucked up and visible in the see through bin. Same with the Shark, but it is lighter and easier to maneuver. This vacuum has a narrower path however, so I guess it will take a few more pushes to cover the same swath of carpet. In addition, the suction is adjustable. A word of warning if you have floor rugs with fringe. Be sure to avoid the fringe when the beater blades and high suction are engaged. I wasn't used to the full force of the new machine and rolled over some fringe on an aging dhurrie flat weave rug and the vacuum ripped that fringe (and a few rows of the carpet itself!). I won't do this again.

better than my last one. but not as good as a more expensive model (Shark) my son has. Best I could afford but cleaning fans, ceiling, walls, vents is difficult because the want is rather inflexible.
