Q: How do you store it?
A: I store my steam mop in the closet, standing up. Along side, I keep replacement pads, distilled water. I do add a tiny bit of LimeAWay to the distilled water that I add, every couple of months. Otherwise I use plain distilled water, whenever it needs filling. Daily, I use a swiffer. If needed, I use Armstrong Hardwood Cleaner or Bona that I spray on with a used spray bottle. I'm a homemaker, so I pay attention, I have time. We have 2 BIG Main Coon cats also, there are big wads of hair that I remove daily. I am in my home daily. Hope this helps.
submitted byRosie - 3 years agoA: We would like to let you know you would just need to lean the unit against something when storing. There is no need to take the water out of the unit when storing.

Q: Hello! I have plank hardwood floors.. I read a steamer can damage this type of floor- causing it to buckle.. I’m wanting to disinfect & get them clean - having difficulty of what to use on flooring.
A: We can assist you with your request. Our Steam Mops are designed for use on all sealed hard-floor surfaces. We recommend that you first Test an isolated area of the floor surface to be cleaned as well as review the use and care instructions from your floor manufacturer.

Q: Are these mop covers machine washable or throw away?
A: We would like to let you know that the pads for this Steam mop are washable.
submitted byShark Support Team - 4 years agoBrand expertA: I've washed the pads for years, alone with liquid detergent a bit of bleach, yes they shrink a little bit. I hand pull them as much as I can. I have replaced them too, I just cycle them into my pile. I am a fan.

Q: Do you have to sweep the hard surface flooring before using it? Or does it pick up debris from the floor as it is used? I really don’t want to sweep and mop since that is what I am doing now. Thanks.
A: Hi, I do swiffer or vacuum before I use my Shark. Yes, it's a pain but, I don't use my Shark daily. I found that my shoes suction to the hardwood, so once a month, I clean my floors with my Shark to remove the residue of cleaners. Who knew? Me.
submitted byRosie - 3 years agoA: We would like to inform you that this unit will collect dust and small debris on the pad.

Q: Can this be used to disinfect mattresses? Due to the beer bug, I have a family member that has become a germaphobe and hopefully this can calm them down.
A: We would like to let you know that it is not recommended to use our steam mops on mattresses as the moisture from the steam may stay in the mattress.
submitted byShark Support Team - 4 years agoBrand expertA: Steam works well on bed bugs depending on the mattress textile and the depth of the infestation; there are variables but yes it would work. the best way to get rid of bed bugs naturally is to buy an OZONE GENERATOR. You can buy high end for expensive or low end for short term (several months to several years) usage. I have a $2,500 medical ozone generator and it kills everything. For your use, you could get a way with a cheap one though and there are so many other uses (even for a cheap one) like cleaning the air, mold, ur vehicle.
