This Shea Moisture African Black Soap Face & Body Bar is a gentle cleanser that provides instant resurfacing benefits while helping to balance blemish-prone skin. African Black Soap and Shea Butter combine with Tamarind Extract and Tea Tree Oil to absorb impurities and clarify skin. In this facial cleanser, Tamarind Extract is a natural astringent that helps exfoliate skin. In this facial cleanser, Tea Tree Oil is a gently purifying essential oil that helps to soothe and mattify skin. Apply face wash to damp skin. Gently massage face cleanser into the face and neck using circular motions. Rinse thoroughly. Use once or twice weekly as required. Follow with African Black Soap Clarifying Toner. Q: Does Shea moisture organic black soap reduce pores size and slough off dead skin cells

A: I'm not sure b/c I just use the bar soap on my hands. Most soaps and hand washes itch or break my skin out. When I have an eczema outbreak, it's generally on my hands. The soap works very well on my hands; it calms my skin down and so far, it clears it right away. I have some of their body wash that I haven't tried yet. I don't see anything on the soap package or body wash regarding pores. The bar soap wrapper states "for acne prone skin and body bar". The body wash mentions helping psoriasis, and eczema. Neither mention pores, but heck, it can't hurt to try it and let us know.

Q: so I have acne prone skin that is sensitive and is dry. I was wondering would this be a good product to use for that or no because in the past a few face cleansers have chemical burned my face. thanks

It leaves my skin smooth but it doesn’t do anything for my acne. For the dry part after you wash your face it’s best to put moisturizer on. If it helped me with my acne I would have given it more stars.

umm so y'all... i bought this soap after I ran out of the 8oz one that I'd received as a gift. The 8oz wasn't available in my store so I got this one. I thought it'd be the same. It was not. The pieces of whatever that is in the soap, apparently have been leaving little cuts in my face and now I have more acne/blemishes. It's incredibly drying and frankly, it burns. I don't understand why the smaller one is worse but the extra $1 and some change is worth it y'all. get the 8oz :( btw: I have combination skin and am a WOC.

I really like this bar of soap it help keep my skin smooth and prevents the acne that I already have to not get any worse. The bar last for about two months. And I use it every day to every other day.

I really wanted to like this soap, but it dried my face so much! They ingredients are natural. The price is great. The packaging is minimal and smells good. But it just dried my face out so much. If your face is super oily and can handle a dry out, I’d recommend this soap.

My go to for a long time and Target is the best place to find it in stock! You’ll notice a difference after one wash and it’s very silky and refreshing!! Very natural and good for all skin types. I’ve used this for about 2 weeks now and this has helped tremendously with my KP, hyperpigmentation, and dark spots. I was worried about this irritating my bikini area, due to me having sensitive skin, but it’s cleared up my bikini area/inner thighs so much without any irritation! Not only is my skin starting to lighten but it also feels smoother to the touch. This really has been a godsend, I now feel confident enough to wear skirts again! You do need to store this in some sort of sandwich baggie though or else it will stain your bathtub.

The oatmeal and rocks within this soap scratched my face so much. It also gave me severe burns on my face and I don’t have acne I just wanted to try a soap with a good lather.

This product really helps maintain my combination of dry and oil skin. My skin at 50 plus is more subtle than most women my age. I love the product. It doesn't dry the skin, nor does it strip the oils. The packaging is really effective, t doesn't tear easy.

This is not authentic black soap. It's just glycerin soap that is black. African Black Soap has herbs in it. This did nothing special for my skin. If you want real African Black Soap get DuDu Osom brand it actually works

I've used this soap a few times. I really like bar soap because it has minimal packaging & is more eco-friendly than plastic bottles. This soap smells amazing & feels really good to use. I feel so clean after using it. I think it helped with acne a little, but not much. I don't blame the soap though. Topical products have never really worked for my acne. The root cause comes from within, so supplements & diet have had the biggest effect.

It made my skin break out and it has a strong soapy smell that I did not like. Everybody has different skin so it may work for you but just be careful. It is pretty affordable.
