I should have listened to the reviews. However, I wanted to try it out for myself and be the judge. It smells horrible. I’m debating if I should continue using it.

I was using the Kristen Ess co wash (not clean!) before this and this is far superior. I have recently become a lot more conscious about the ingredients in my products and I have 3B/3C curls. That Kristen Ess co wash was like any other conditioner but they just packaged it as a co wash. You can actually tell this Shea moisture product is unique and has its own qualities. It’s not quite a shampoo nor is it quite a conditioner… It is somewhat in between. I felt that it was so effective in removing buildup simply by massaging it into my scalp for a few minutes. It also smells amazing!

I love the Shea moisture collection. A very tiny bit goes a long way. I can make a bottle last 3 months or more. The conditioner smells amazing like the shampoo. Best if used together. Defines my waves and curls better than anything else I've ever used

I love this line. It was lightweight but made my hair so manageable and smelled amazing. And it was easy to detangling my hair afterwards

Better than shampoo!

Shampoo was leaving my hair dry and prone to breakage, no matter how good or gentle the shampoo or the fact that I was only shampooing 1-2 times a week. Switched to this co-was and my Mixed hair is finally happy. Leaves my hair soft, it doesn't break as much, and it doesn't build up grease as quickly between washes. LOVE!

I started using co-wash cleansers early in my hair-growth/health journey and this is the first one I tried. It gets my scalp nice and clean and leaves my hair silky. Contrary to popular belief, depending on your style choices, co-wash cleansers can replace shampoos as a cleansing option. They don’t strip hair or natural oils and remove dirt, dead skin, and buildup from the scalp.

Its Heaven in a bottle

For some reason for about a year my hair has had a lack of growth and I was given a bottle of this recently and yes it works! The first time I washed my hair with this I could already tell the difference in texture. It leave your hair moisturized and it also detangled it very well. Smells great! If you have damaged, brittle hair like I once had I recommend this. Its medicine in a bottle!

I have straight hair, but it is dry. The co-wash I used for years was discontinued. This is very moisturizing, but does leave a little "buildup" after a few washes, so am I using a normal shampoo and conditioner about once a week, and this in between. I am happy that this product is free from a lot of the harsh chemicals used in hair products, so I can feel good about using it. I am a Target team member, but these are my own thoughts and opinions.

I am black with type 4a curls. I tried this co wash today. First starters, I didn't like the smell, While washing my hair, it was very low lather, more like a cream, however after I rinsed, my hair did feel very soft, and moisturized, I felt like it had been cleansed also. My wash and go came out beautiful when I followed up with Shea Moistures Manuka Honey Leave in conditioning milk. Overall it was just okay. Nothing spectacular! However ever it did what it was supposed to do.

Clean but difficult

I have Caucasian 2b/2c curly hair, and this was my first try at co-washing, so maybe I’m just doing this wrong? I was hoping to use this product mid-week, between my regular wash days to revive some bounce (I have really thin hair that gets weighed down easily). However, my hair became piece-y and oily after using this, rather than nourished. You also have to use so much of this product to get it to work. I know it says to massage the product down the hair strand, but with almost no slip it’s so hard to, and I just feel like I’m breaking my hair. I also reeeeeally dislike the smell. It has a chemically, vinegar-y scent that literally sticks around until you wash it out. It doesn’t smell like the other coconut/hibiscus products at all (I’ve used the curl soufflé and body wash before). I couldn’t even get through a full bottle of this before throwing it out:(

Not conditioning or moisturizer

I excpect to be able to at least run my fingers through my hair when I condition my hair and I can’t even do that. I have thick, curly hair and it does nothing to help my curls. If anything, I’ve seen my curls get less coily since using this product. I have to use tons to feel like I’ve gotten anything done. I feel like the only hair type this seems to work with based on reviews I’ve seen is people with think straight hair. I wouldn’t buy this if I were looking for moisture.

Soft & Bouncy

I used this in my daughter's hair. She has combination hair - softer loose coils in the front, coarser/tight coils in the back. Either we're just having a really great washday, or I've been overlooking how good this was. I use a lot of different Shea Moisture hair products along with similar brands. I washed her hair last night with this and it came out great! Worked through the sections and left the hair bouncy and soft for styling in twists. I had to look at the bottle and ask myself "where has this been?!" I recommend this product for hair that tends to lose moisture easily and doesn't need to be shampooed too often. The downside is that it comes in this 8oz bottle for 11.99. We'll probably get 4 more washes out of the bottle. I wish it were priced a little lower, but for the results we got last night (with no crying), maybe it was worth it.
