Q: Why won't the white noise stay on all night when it's on the infinity setting?? It still turns off after a short period of time

submitted by Astone - 6 years ago
  • A: So if it doesn’t operate on batteries, where is the battery case then?? I can’t figure out where that is located so I can turn the switch off.

submitted byVJ - 4 years ago
  • A: There may be a demo mode switch on the inside battery case. Please be sure this is turned off.

Q: How big is the projection? Can it fill a large part of the ceiling?

submitted by Runnermom - 4 years ago
  • A: The size of the projection depends on how far away from the ceiling it is – the closer the ceiling, the smaller the projection. On most ceilings it will probably be around 3 feet. It is a round projection. It won’t fill up the whole ceiling, but it is adjustable so that it can be centered over a child’s bed or crib even if the unit is placed next to the bed or elsewhere in the room.

I have always loved this for my kids, but the newer ones don't have a volume that increases the way the older ones do. This is SO frustrating. Go back to your older model and let us know when you've changed it back!!!

I spent $40 on this in the store and was not impressed with the sound quality. It sounded too harsh and scratchy for a baby. I ended up returning and bought a DreamEgg noise machine for $30 which had a much nicer sound and helps my daughter fall asleep nicely.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have purchased two of these in the last 12 months both have had the night light and projector go out at the same time. (The lullaby and white noise still work) you can just simply change a bulb.

We’re about to have our third baby and I was looking at sound machines again. Idk why, but since I have this one and it had several negative reviews, I was curious why. We’ve had ours since my first child was a newborn and he’s nearly 4-1/2. It’s worked wonderfully for us and we’ve never had an issue. I saw some people say it didn’t work after a few months. I wonder if it was a bad batch? Idk, ours is going strong over 4years now haha just thought I’d throw that out as a positive!

The sound machine puts out the worst versions of White Noise I've ever heard from a digital sound machine. Additionally, it generates blue light. There's really no excuse for producing something like that, other than just mass cheap production, without consideration for quality. If you should have your power blip on, you expect this machine to default to a horrible, jarring, lullaby tune. Additionally, if your child looks into the top light, which makes the stars, they could definitely damage their vision. I would definitely not recommend buying the sound machine for your baby or anyone else

I got this as a gift, and have been using it for a little over 6m. The owl design and the star projection are very cute. But, the nightlight is not very bright and the white noise setting is fairly quiet (especially when compared to the lullaby setting.) If you don't need loud white noise or a night light, then this will be fine for you. Otherwise it might be better to get something else

Pros: lightweight, USB plug-in, multiple sounds and light settings to choose from, and can set the length of time or choose infinite. I also like how you can move the projector to different positions. Cons: the projector of lights is static. I wish it spun in circles or moved in some way. As some said before, the speakers are not “clear” so it does sound static-y. For $32 I wasn’t expecting superior sound quality. I think it adds to the “white noise” effect. It also isn’t over powering. My daughter’s room is small and the sound levels are adjustable. Her room is carpeted and doesn’t echo, so even on the highest setting it wasn’t disturbingly loud. I could see this being an issue if the room was larger and without carpeted floors. To be honest, a great value at the price.

I love the ceiling lights & that you can dim the owl. But I wish you could turn the sound all the way off. It actually keeps my baby awake instead of calming her but even at the lowest sound, it’s too loud. Also I wish you didn’t have to plug it in cause long cords with toddlers suck.

The sound is awful. It's way too loud on its lowest setting and sounds gravelly. Also, the projection can't be controlled much. It's just straight above the device so unless you have a nightstand next to the bed It's not even worth it.

This is our second one. The first one we had worked great - had it for over 6 years and then the cord broke. We decided to just buy a new one but the volume is so low, you can barely hear it no matter how high you turn it up. Not sure if that was an intentional change but if so. we liked that last version much better!

I’ve had mine for almost 9 years now. My daughter uses it every night as a nightlight and for white noise. She even takes it whenever she spends the night at her grandparents. I’m looking for to buy another for myself to use as white noise. Most definitely worth the buy.
