Summary of reviews
Many guests have expressed deep disappointment with the recent changes to Skippy creamy peanut butter, noting a significant decline in quality. The product has become excessively runny and oily, making it difficult to spread and enjoy as before. Longtime fans are considering switching brands due to these changes, which they believe may be driven by cost-cutting measures. Guests hope for a return to the original consistency and flavor that made Skippy a favorite for decades.

Definately more oily than before . My guess it's from the hydrogenated vegetable oil . Not so good for you !

I am 61 years old and have been eating Skippy peanut butter my whole life, but not anymore. The texture and flavor for awhile now is no longer the same, runny and full of other oils. Will buy a different brand for me and my grandkids, not feeding them this garbage.

I grew up on Skippy peanut butter. It's the only way I eat pancakes. When I was younger my mom used to have to carry a jar when traveling or I wouldn't eat breakfast. I've been eating it for 50+ years. In the last year I have noticed it's now super runny. I thought I got a bad batch but a few months later a newly purchased jar was the same way. I guess this is where Skippy and I break up after a lifetime of companionship. My husband grew up on Jif so I guess it will be Jif in this house from now on. RIP Skippy. We used to be great together. 😭

Noticed within the last year or so that the creamy peanut butter has been unnaturally oily. Even after stirring to try to emulsify, it still leaves that oily consistency that coats the mouth rather unpleasantly. I've even tried pouring the oil off the top, but to no avail.

So I'm not the only one that has noticed Skippy has changed. Both creamy and chunky has gotten very oily to the point I have to stir it to mix the oil in. Not having to mix the peanutbutter in the past was one of the main reasons we liked Skippy. Not anymore.

I agree with the reviews. I've used Skippy for over 40 years. My only choice for peanut butter. It has never been runny or oily. Now it's gross! I will be throwing my current jar in the garbage and searching for a new go to peanut butter. Whatever has changed, change it back!

I was a Skippy only person until now. Used a jar to make cookies for Christmas and it was a bowl of oil. The cookies spread out to twice the size they were supposed to. Absolutely awful! What did you do the product? You can taste the in the cookie. Had to throw them away. Guess I'm switching to Jif now.

Creamy 28oz. Opened the container and it's soupy. There's a big puddle of oil on the top. Attempted to stir it but just made it even more soupy. Will not spread and just slides off bread. Hardly any peanut flavor to it.

I have always loved Skippy, but it's suddenly so oily and runny that I can't spread it on toast. It's legitimately so liquidy that the bread ABSORBS it as if it were water. On top of that, I then need to spend 5+ minutes cleaning the oil off the counter and sides of the jar. It's an absolute mess and tastes like nothing. I thought I bought one bad jar, but having the same experience with the new one. After reading these reviews, it seems that I'm not alone. I'm throwing this jar out and will never buy Skippy again until they promise me that it's fixed and stop gaslighting us. I don't have time for this.

I have always loved peanut butter, I overcame my peanut allergy at a young age from constantly eating it. Skippy was always a favorite, no more is that the case. Nothing but runny oil, I thought it was bad or just mine until I read these reviews. I will throw this crap out and go buy something worth my money

The consistency of the PeanutButter is awful. Why couldn't you leave the original alone! Go back to the original so it don't drip off crackers! You can keep the creamy for thoes who like it but us older crew like the one from back in the day! Bring it back as Skippy "ORGINIAL" Recipe!

Hi Yoyo, we apologize for your experience however we have not changed the SKIPPY® formulation. Please respond to the email we sent out to you!

I've been eating only Skippy peanut butter my whole life. I just turned 60 recently & I've found that the "new" formula being made is disgustingly oily & tastes bland. I thought maybe it was the 1 jar I bought, but the last couple of jars it's been the same. As soon as you start to use it it becomes an oily mess! It barely spreads on the bread & doesn't have the roasted peanut taste it used to have. If your company is trying to cut corners on the cost of it, you are going to severely lose customers. I will have to start trying to look for a better, smoother, tastier peanut butter. Skippy is gross & oily & I'm so dissatisfied in how it looks & tastes now. I know how I store it isn't the problem, because I've been storing it in the same location in my cupboards for years. Please fix whatever the issue is & make it like you use to.
