I have picked this bag to replace a 15-year old similar drop-bottom rolling bag (from Ricard Beverly Hills), which has started to slowly come apart. While both bags are 30"long (which makes for a large piece of luggage), the one from Skyline is a couple of inches narrower than my old one, and could not fit nearly as much. Plus, the bag is made of a much thinner material with flimsy zippers between top and bottom, which do not look like they can withstand the force required to close a slightly overpacked bag. This bag is probably OK for travel by car, but would hardly withstand even 5 years of air travel. Hence, it's been returned.
Bought it last minute for a trip. Bigger than I expected but a very nice piece. Packed for four days along with various misc stuff. Didn't come close to filling it. Because it's so big the wheels are nice. Awkward to carry by the handle due to size. The bottom compartment is great for shoes or something you want to lay flat. If your looking for a weekend duffle although this is a nice bag I would go smaller.
I bought 2 of these for a 7 day cruise. One for me and one for my husband, you can fit a lot in it. We didn't have any issues with the rollers. (maybe it just happens to be a fluke thing with some, or maybe some are over-packing). We didn't have to do a lot rolling but when we did no issues. We wouldn't let it deter us from buying because again, we didn't have a lot of rolling to do. Made well, after filled and zipped, you can easily strap tightly to keep everything secure. Has a hidden compartment near the handle. :) Good value for the price. We were very pleased.
