I put it together and it seemed like cheap materials. When I was finished I picked it up by the top to place it in my house and the scratch post fell out from the base. It’s only secured together by staples and not thick staples like paper staples. I returned it.see moreof the reviewer's review

Nice, simple post. Cat took to it immediately. Likes the spinners, especially when we place the unit next to her favorite box. I'd have given it 4 stars, but we're at about 9 months and it's toast... need a new one. But honestly, I don't really know how long they're supposed to last. I *might* buy this for a kitten, but not for an adult cat. My cat is not large (6 pounds), but she easily tips this over and now avoids it because of that. This was absolutely a waste of money.see moreof the reviewer's review

I've purchased many of these over the years. My one cat always loved them, but not anymore! She doesn't actually scratch the post. She stands on the base and digs at the corners and edges of the base.
