Q: On the order page, the picture of the peanut butter shows "just stir and enjoy" the box to the right side says "NO need to stir, ready right out of the jar." Which IS it?? Don't want the no-stir .

A: This Peanut Butter NEEDS to be stirred when you first open the jar as the oil separates to the top of the peanut butter. Once it is stirred into the peanut butter it doesn't separate back out. We don't refrigerate it in our house and have never had a problem over the years of using it. A great "simple" peanut butter without any additional ingredients than Peanuts and Salt!
submitted byLittleRhody - 6 years agoA: Thought I would try this brand as I have always been a Jif guy...got tired of ALL the additives...Smuckers to me is pretty good and after purchasing I now turn it upside down...roll it around a bit which seems to mix the oil much more... than when I open the jar it is easier to mix...yes it is a bit grainy but hey it's made with peanuts. I am now staying with Smuckers all Natural...OldManDave

A: Great set of questions! While we always suggest speaking to your vet, we can confirm our peanut butter does not contain Xylitol, which sometimes is used in other brands and is harmful for dogs to consume. Additionally, you do not need to keep this product refrigerated once opened. Hope this info helps!

By far the best peanut butter I’ve had and the only kind I buy now. Yes, when you first open the can, there’s a lot of oil at the top. This is normal and standard for all natural PB’s. I always shake the jar really good before opening the lid and then stir with a butter knife for 2 min and it’s good to go! If you’re use to PB such as JIF, it may take some time to get use to because the flavor is drastically different (but better!). It actually tastes like peanut butter - you can actually taste the peanuts and the texture works so well on bread! Highly recommend!

First time I bought this product and I liked its flavor, I love that it only has two ingredients. I have the doubt that if it requires refrigeration after opening or not, it does not indicate it anywhere.

Tried this and the top says stir and enjoy. How can you stir when the peanut butter is rock hard? All the oil spilled and it was not worth the effort.

LOVE THIS! Yes, it takes quite a LONG time to fully stir- Like 5 solid minutes! It can be MESSY if you rush (Oil spill over) & a workout! But once it’s done, it’s fine and no need to mix again for the rest of the jar. There is nothing like actual real peanut butter made from just peanuts: no garbage like palm oil or added sugar. I can’t go back to previous brands. They seem like peanut butter flavored kids toothpaste now- nasty! I honestly don’t open it until I am ready to invest time and effort to completely mix it. I just remind myself my health is worth the effort.

We have enjoyed this peanut butter for years but the "just stir and enjoy" note on the lid is getting to be harder and harder to accomplish. The last few jars have been harder but the last one literally took me 15 minutes to get stirred to any enjoyable consistency. Just looks like you don't have a very consistent process. Got one jar left in the pantry --if its the same way--likely the last.

Super hard to stir & messy with so much oil sitting on top. Even turned it upside before opening thinking it would slide down and absorb some of the oil. It didn't bugde. I got tired of stirring so it's part runny part chunky. It's like you need to use an immersion blender. Maybe it was just this jar but not sure if I would try again.

I used the natural peanut butter for years. The last jar I got was so runny you could shake it like a drink. When I put it on bread it was like a liquid ! So I believe it’s being stretched with an oily filler to save on their cost . I won’t be buying anymore. I’m sure there are other natural peanut butters out there that don’t pour out of the jar.

The diet plan I’m on discourages all things peanutty, but it’s my favorite cheat. I decided to at least try a CLEAN peanut butter, since I gave up most sugar a couple years ago. Though it took some getting used to, I can hardly tolerate the slimy texture of my old favorite, Jif. Nothing but Smuckers for me (and the dogs) from now on. It’s my joy.

The Natural Creamy PB is not good! Not only the flavor, but the grittiness. I am beyond disappointed as I was hoping for a wonderful flavor. You need to reconfigure this recipe.

I love this peanut butter! Its the only peanut butter I buy. I go through a lot of it. I love the chunky in particular. No other peanut butter can compare. I try others and its not the same.

Ground peanuts and oil were completely separated when I opened the jar. Ten minutes of hard & messy stirring resulted in a coarse paste. It was NOT creamy and had a very gritty taste. The peanut oil had an off-musty after taste. Worst creamy peanut I have ever tasted!!

I have been enjoying Smucker Natural Peanut Butter since the yearly 1980's. Now I can't find it. Just the organic stuff. At first I thought it was a labeling and marketing thing. Nope. This organic stuff is poop. It taste like peanut shells and is gritty. We have tried 3 jars of the organic with the same results. It is overall nasty and I will not be wasting my money on it.
