A: I left these out overnight in the rain. There was condensation in the battery pack and I was concerned. But next evening functioned perfectly.

Q: Does this turn on automatically at night?

A: So to clear up confusion: Large lantern has on/off button under the puck (which you must lift out -- line up arrows). If left on it will automatically come on at dusk. But if you don't need to use it every night, you can turn it on and off when you please. Small lantern has no switch. It comes on at dusk and stays on all night automatically, and cannot be turned off at night unless exposed to light.

Q: I have large lantern. The problem with it that just seemed to start happening is the light does not stay on steady. It flashes off and on. Does this mean the batteries need to be replaced?

Q: The large chunky lantern goes off after only 3 minutes. (yes, it's completely dark outside.). I've had the lantern a couple days so I can't imagine it needs new batteries. Is there something I can check/do to make the lantern stay on longer?

The large lantern has a on/off button under the puck that will automatically turn on at dusk if left on. If it is not working for long, please leave it off and try again later after it has store up more energy. You also have the option of returning the lantern if this issue continues. First, I was shocked at how much they cost, but then to take them home and see how much light it produced… shock turned into disappointment. Why doesn’t the item description state how many lumens the product produces? I also don’t see where the battery or the light source can be replaced, that has been mentioned? I had two small lanterns for one summer in direct sunlight and it took a long time for them to give off barely any light at night, i then them put away for the next season, because even though they say they are weather resistant or whatever I highly doubt they mean for the Northeast! So I just took them out again in April and one of them doesn’t light at all and the second one barely lights, unless you kind of toggle with it like an old Nintendo - then it’ll stay on for maybe an hour. Super sad because I do love the look!

I purchased this in store because it was a good size to sit on our patio and I was hoping it would provide decent light to illuminate the area a bit. The lantern itself is very well made and heavy. Once home, I realized there’s no on/off switch and that in the battery pack solar panel lid, there’s only one teenie tiny warm white LED light. One! For this whole lamp! The light was less than minimal and other than it’s appearance and the interesting light pattern effect, it really had no use or function. Returning!

It rained for two days and the solar/battery pack filled up with water. Light is broken after 1 month of owning it. Other than that, the lantern are great, just bummed the light broke and I don’t have a replacement.

This is a very well made/sturdy and beautiful product. It was much larger than I thought it was going to be but I think that was my fault for not paying attention to the listed dimensions. The light does not have a push button on the bottom. You have to remove the circle on the top with the solar panel by lining up the arrows. Then you should remove the red tab to allow the battery to work. As far as I can tell you will not have any control over if the light is on or not.

When you order this on line - it arrives alone in the shipping box - no instructions - no manual - and no info on the listing - so: rotate the solar panel on the top of the lantern until you can lift it out. Remove the protective plastic to engage the battery. Replace the solar panel. After enough time in daylight - the lantern light will come on at dark automatically. The light level is more for mood than utility.

This lantern is beautiful! My only issue is where is the on/off switch at the base as stated in the item description? The item description indicates it can also be used with a battery that’s included. I haven’t had it in the sun long enough yet to see the light & if it actually goes on automatically.

I got both sizes and they look amazing together. The amount of light they put off is what you would expect. My patio style is boho cozy and I paired these lights with the Opalhouse Britannia loveseat and chairs, as well as the hammered brass coffee table. I couldn’t be happier!!!
