This little gadget really works. I live in a wooded area and I've tried everything to get rid of the pesky aniumals in my yard that eat my plants! I can't really say whether or not I would recommend this item. I am out in the country in a small subdivision and have a terrible problem with armadillos - plural! The first Yard Guard worked so well in the front yard, I had to buy one for the back patio. Installed second unit and overnight the messy problem was solved. No more pine nut debris on the back patio and spa.
