My son wanted this set for Christmas and was so excited when he opened it! He's a huge Star Wars fan and he thought this set looked so cool. So we open the box and it's cardboard with a few plastic pieces. The cardboard is heavy and it probably wouldn't break or bend easy with continuous play. Unfortunately as soon as my son started playing with the set the cardboard pieces were falling out place. The age on the box says 4+, but the only people I would recommend this set for is if you wanted to display your Star Wars figurines and not actually do any playing with it. It was not worth the price and I was highly disappointed with the overall product.
Seriously...95% cardboard for $50. 100% disappointed in this thing, why someone would justify the price by saying it's "sturdy" cardboard. Ridiculous to pay $50 for 1 guy and a bunch of cardboard with some plastic supports.
For the price of this item, I expected better. Sure, I love the innovative design of having multiple scenes to play and display figures in 360-degree style, but the cardboard is extremely difficult to keep together. And the pieces fall off easily without tape. This is more like a model kit for adults because it will not withstand child play for too long. Finally, the instructions were not obvious in explaining that you can hear the train by holding your Force Link 2.0 wristband close to the wheels. I just learned that by reading another review! Overall, I still give this toy a fair rating because I’m happy that Hasbro is continuing to give consumers alternate places to play/display/store their Star Wars figures aside from space vehicles.
Hasbro has finally given in and produced fans of Star Wars some nice sturdy playsets! It’s about 95% cardboard, but it’s not cheap or flimsy like the older vintage sets. It includes a few plastic pieces and stands for figures. The Conveyex train provides sound effects when using the Forcelink 2.0 wristband (sold separately). The price is a little steep for cardboard, but hopefully it’s successful enough to get us more sets in the near future
