Q: I connected the top and middle pipes the wrong way. I have hard time separating these two pipes so that I can re-insert them the right way. They seem stuck in eachother. How do I seprate them?

We recommend adding two gallons of non-toxic antifreeze at a minimum if you use water in the base during the winter months and laying the hoop on its side if server thunderstorms or winds are occurring in your area. Okay, so that basketball hoop itself is pretty decent for a first time hoop. The directions on the other hand were absolutely horrible! It took my wife and I HOURS to build and she’s amazing at building things. Parts are not labeled, the directions are very vague, and even the pictures suck. We watched a video on YouTube and it was the ONLY one available and he went so fast with assembly without audio so we had to keep pausing it. I will not recommend this item to anyone until the manufacturer makes better instructions, label ALL parts, and design a QR code to scan so that it has a professional video available to view. Our kid can finally enjoy it and the next hoop will be built in ground by professionals. If you think you can handle the directions, go for it.

The worst design of assembly possible you have to pound the poles together after putting the foot on. it's impossible to get it to seat all the way down you literally have to beat on it with a sledgehammer to get it to seat all the way and by that time all the other cheap metal is already bending

The directions provided with this item were so poorly written that my son inadvertately assembled a piece incorrectly. Then, there was no going bak and correcting this mistake. My son and husband worked to disassemble the two poles that had been put together wrong and were unable to do so. We have contacted Spaulding and told we must prchased additionally parts. Not acceptable since I see from reviews that this is not the first time this has happened. The directions should be clear and Spaulding should stand behind them and their product. Reaching out to Spaulding cia their 1-800 number has been nearly impossible- put on hold- told they would return the call and did not. I have only been able to reach then through email and now being told I must call to purchase a replacment part for a basketball hoop that hasnt even been used I am unsure when this purchase will even be usable for my grandkids. I have always been very satisfied with my Target purchases- but so far- not this one!

I was worried after reading reviews but I’m happy with the purchase! I’m a fairly experienced female DIY-er. I put this together completely by myself. I used a sawhorse as the instructions say. The only issues I had was when I put the wrong part in one spot and had to redo that section. We’ve had it up less than a month so I can’t speak to the longevity but it seems very solid!

Great basketball hoop for the price. It definitely took two people to put it together, but I bought this net knowing it would take a few hours and a lot of patience to put together, so it wasn’t upsetting to me. I gave it four stars is it a five, because one it’s left outside the water seems to rust something inside of the backboard that’s not sealed well and the rusty water is leaking onto my driveway and staining a rust color. If you’re putting it in the street, I don’t think you’d have this problem and if you Plan on having it as an indoor basketball hoop, I also don’t think you’d have this problem.
