My summer sunscreen supply was at low ebb so I decided to stock up at the end of the season, ready for next season. This Target brand SPF30 worked well for me in the past and is priced much more afforably than the nationally-advertised brands. I purchased several bottles of this Target product and am ready for NEXT summer!

My very fair kiddos wear this on their face all day with hours spent at the pool. Works for us! Just apply it as often as you’re supposed to, no problems.

I'm a light skin Black woman and I like this Sunscreen. It does take a minute to settle but it's too long. It can feel a little sticky but nothing that can't be worked with.

I’m pretty fair & tend to burn or freckle before tanning so sunscreen is really important to me. The fragrance free Up & Up stuff works great. I’m rarely out in the sun for more than a few hours at a time though. If I do spend a long day at the beach I’ll use a heavier mineral sunscreen. It’s fairly lightweight, non-greasy, & absorbs fully in about 30 minutes. I’ve seen some negative reviews here but my experience has been really positive. I only use fragrance free products which can be hard to find. Every spring I go to purchase my sunscreen for the year & am excited that this version still exists. Can’t beat the price either. I use both the SPF 30 & 50 & so will be leaving this review for both.

Great Product for my Fair Skin!
5 out of 5 stars
kddlm - 2 years ago
Just spent the week in Aruba (very strong sun) and used this sunscreen on my fair, easily to burn Irish skin. I started out with the 30 and supplemented with 15. Chose this product because of the reef friendly ingredients. Worked great! I did not burn at all, but tanned nicely (for as much as my skin tans). Goes on thick and takes a bit of rubbing in to have the white look disappear, but I would rather have that to see any missed spots. Seems to repel water nicely as well. Will buy again and would recommend!

Horrific experience. I usually use spf 15 in another brand and do not burn. I bought this spf 30 because they did not have brand I usually use. My skin is on fire from being sunburned, I even reapplied while I was out to be safe.

This product is dangerous and 100% DOES NOT WORK AS SUNSCREEN!! My fiancé is a fisherman and uses sunscreen every single day before he goes to work. We recently switched from Coppertone to this Target brand to try out something different. He is very careful about protecting himself and has never had any problem but recently has been coming home every day with a burned face, we just thought oh well you must need to reapply more. Then I came out on the boat with him and lathered myself in this sunscreen multiple times...trusting that it would protect me while I enjoyed the boat..when we got home I was BURNED TO A CRISP. I wish I had taken a picture, but again until I came on here and saw the other reviews, I didn’t fully believe it was the sunscreen’s fault...now I know, this product should we pulled from the shelves immediately but unfortunately if you’re in the store buying it you probably don’t check the reviews first! This product is unsafe. Do not buy. Target, PULL THIS ITEM FROM YOUR SHELVES.

This has been my favorite sunscreen for years. Unfortunately they have changed the formula. This tube was sticky and tacky right from the moment of applying. I thought maybe it would absorb but it stayed tacky. Not good for a sunscreen. So I will return. If they bring back the previous formula I would definitely purchase again, but not this formula.

I embarked on this weekend among friends. People that respected me, cared for me, and saw me as an equal. I was responsible for supplying sunscreen for a 15-man bachelor party. I showed up to the beach-house with spirits high and smiles wide. After a few hours on the beach, a few gentlemen began to show signs of some slight tenderness. Nothing crazy, and some teasing ensued. Assuming those few had missed a few spots, the afternoon proceeded with minimal hiccups.
Here we are, 15 hours later. After countless breaks of sunscreen application and layering, I lay here in my rental twin bed with a tortilla bag full of ice as my only true relief. The last hour has been spent passing around the family size aloe as literally ever inch of our bodies is covered in sunburn. We ache as we stand. We ache as we sit. We ache as we hobble to the bathroom to reapply aloe. This sunscreen has single-handedly brought us together as a team, while physically separating us from our outermost layer of skin. I write this review at 2am because no one can sleep because of the heat radiating from our bodies. See you next year up&up... you win this round.

Burned - 5 years ago
I applied this product to an area 1/2" x 3" to protect a scar from surgery (in the crease of my shoulder) Surgery was over year ago and well healed. I did not apply product anywhere else. I sat in sun for an hour. The ONLY place that I burned was the area I applied the product. All red and burned last night. This is day 2 and I woke up with burned area is blistered (2nd degree burns) The rest of my body is fine (unprotected). I would have been better of leaving the scar exposed. Now this product has cause severe damage. After reading the other reviews...I see that I am not alone. This product should be pulled off the shelves!!! It is dangerous.

DO NOT USE THIS SUNSCREEN

Please do not use this sunscreen! I purchased in store prior to a vacation. I have always liked and utilized up and up products and did not double guess purchasing their sunscreen. My husband and I usually use spray sunscreen spf15 however I did not want any chance of burning for a short weekend getaway (it was our first vacation in four years) so I purchased the lotion version sport in spf30. Upon our arrival on our first day we went to the beach in the afternoon and was there for a short period of time. After coming back to our hotel I immediately noticed I was burnt. I took a cool shower and applied aloe. After a few hours my husband was red as well and my sunburn had come out fully and painfully. THIS BURN WAS HORRIBLE! Some areas of my skin were so burnt the areas appear to have a purple/red tone. One reviewer mentioned it being like a chemical burn. The burns were so severe we were unable to wear normal fitting clothing and it was incredibly painful to move, sleep, walk, anything. I do not know how this product is on the shelves! It has been over a week and my skin is still bright red, painful, and scabbing/peeling. It’s unlike any other burn I have ever had. I checked the expiration dates to ensure the product was still “good”. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SUNSCREEN. Read the other reviewers accounts of using this product (select most recent- I am assuming there was a formula change from the original product) they are all one/two start reviews with the same experience. I do not understand how this is skin care certified. Target needs to remove this product from their shelves as this is a safety hazard to their customers. I can not imagine if this was used on a child.

Burnt like toast - 5 years ago
Created an account just to review this. My friend and I used this at the beach, and while tubing down a river. Both times, we got very burnt, but the worst part was when our skin was peeling! The first time we peeled for a long three weeks, it was almost like a chemical burn. The second time we used it, we were already peeling before we even got down the river. Threw the stuff away immediately after that. Warned my family not to buy it too. This stuff will wreck your skin.
