Whether you're boiling, basting or braising, a Stainless Steel Covered Saucepan from Made By Design™ can take on the job. This handy saucepan lets you transition from stove to oven and back again with ease, and the vented lid helps you regulate temperature without removing the top. And best of all, the polished stainless steel design resists corrosion and wear from induction heating, letting you use it again and again to prepare your favorite foods.
This cookware is rated #2 and a Best Buy by Consumer Reports, at 1/3 the price of the #1 brand. I purchased both the 1.5 and 3 quart pans. Good weight, even heating and strainer lids make these a great deal. They sit perfectly flat on our ceramic cooktop, where our slightly rounded, ancient Farberware pans were no longer practical.
Good saucepan. Works well on induction stove. ( The other, coated By Design pans indicate that they work on induction THEY DO NOT). Vents in lid and pouring spouts add to ease of use. Metal handle allows for oven use if needed. I bought 2.
Sturdy pan that cleans well. I've used to boil pasta, heat tomato sauce, steamed some broccoli. I've done one batch of broccoli in water so far, and I noticed a strange taste, almost metallic. I usually don't have a problem in my Calphalon stainless steel pan, so I'm not sure why I got this result. I'll try again in hopes that this is a one-time things and that thes taste issue will go away. I really enjoy the ability to drain water out of the pot with the lid on. It's helped on a several occasions with pasta.
