Q: Is this truly a one cup sifter. I am looking for a one cup sifter.
submitted by Computer Nerd - 4 years ago
A: I have never replied to a question so am not sure if this reply will be directed at the customer asking or the Target team member lying to the customer, but it is most definitely NOT 1 cup. The sifter has a capacity of 4 cups from the mesh to the brim. That said, I had to pour the flour back out after testing this, as the sifter does not work as advertised and is 100% a waste of $9. Trust the reviews and invest in a sifter that actually sifts. (Also, what the heck Target? I'm not sure why the product info is wrong in the first place, but to then double down on an error about your OWN product? Lost a bit of my trust there, and I'm certainly going to be more wary of the Made by Design Target label.)

A: Dear Matt,
The details of the sifter state:
“Highlights
* Flour sieve measuring cup holds 1c for accurate measuring
Capacity (Volume): 4 cup”
A 1 Cup Sifter would hold one cup, not capacity 4 cup. This is very misleading and your comments are even more misleading, or some might say dishonest. Someone who would like a 1 Cup Sifter wants a 1 cup capacity as it is much smaller than a 4 cup capacity. They do not care if it can measure 1 Cup in a 4 Cup Sifter.
Target please clarify the size of this Sifter.

Q: How do you clean this sifter? I have particles stuck in the mesh
submitted by Michael - 3 years ago
A: Hi Michael - Thanks for asking about care instructions for this stainless steel sifter. Get as much of the dry flour out of the sifter before washing. Wash sifter with running water and scrub. Use the trigger on the handle while it is under the running water to help get more particles out. Rinse with warm water until clean and dry immediately. Please know that it is also dishwasher-safe. - Philip

Q: This sifter worked great on sifting flour that has chaff. However, how do you clean the chaff from the sifter? Does it come apart easily?
submitted by Kristine - 3 years ago
A: Hi Kristine - We're glad you're enjoying this sifter! This piece is dishwasher safe, so it's easy to clean after each use. Thanks for stopping by! - Alli
I have used this item no more than 4 times, and today it just fell apart while I was making cookie dough. It is obviously not well made.

Would not recommend. I don’t think it could sift two cups in under 30 minutes. After 10 minutes I gave up.

I would give it no stars if I could. The product takes forever to sift and you don’t even get all the flour out because it gets stuck in the sifter. I cannot clean it because there are two layers of mesh and it is stuck in the middle. Don’t buy you’ll have to return it.

This sifter is a piece of junk. Put 1/2 cup flour in it and it went through top screen but didn't come out the bottom. Had to bang it with my palm to get it out. I will be returning it.

As Someone Who Regularly Makes Macarons I Was Looking For A New Sifter. This One Works Horrible And Leaves Huge Chunks Of Almond Flour. It Does Not Work! Not Only That, You Can't Take It Apart To Clean It. Food Is Permanently Stuck Between The Layers Of Mesh. I Took It Into Target And They Said Yeah It's Just Designed To Like That. So What I'm Supposed To Use At One Time?

Disappointed - 9 months ago
Takes forever to get anything through it. If you are sifting more than 1/4 cup of anything your arm gets sore. Also a hunch gets stuck inside so you somehow have to account for that after you’ve already measured to sift it. Used it a couple times and the inside no longer works with the handle

Teaching myself to bake so I wanted to make a pound cake for Easter....the bolt spring popped out almost immediately, followed by the pin. The pin is far to short, my fiance drilled a longer one into it with a nut to keep it in place. The springs still pop out of place. Going to find one with a crank instead. DO NOT BUY!

Very difficult to squeeze the handle after a few times. Broke sifting 1 1/2 cups of flour. Purchased in store so I didn't read reviews. Going back for a refund. Real junk
