Q: I'm looking for ounce measures - are the measures in ounces?

A: Measuring cups for liquids show ounces. These are for dry ingredients.
submitted byPilots Daughter - 3 years agoA: Liquid or Dry does not matter when it comes to volume. Volume is Volume. However, that said. Liquid is better in larger glass cups with lines because of surface tension. water can go over the edge of a line on a dry measuring cup. That is why we should use glass measuring cups for liquids where you look at the line and see the curve of the water on the sides and measure to the middle of the curve (known chemistry technique). The measures are in simple cup fractions no ounce measurements. 1/4 cup is 2 ounces, 1/3 is 2 2/3 ounces, 1/2 cup is 4, and 1 cup is 8 ounces.

A: According to the tag attached it says they are distributed by Target Corporation in Minneapolis, Mn but the origin of the product is China. They are made in China.

These look nice but they are useless for measuring because they are not the sizes labeled. For example, pour four fillings of this quarter cup measure into an accurate beaker and you’ll get more than 1 1/8 cup.

For the most part, I love these measuring cups. They have an expensive finish to them and the metal isn't flimsy. I've sent them through the dishwasher multiple times with no issue. That being said, they run slightly large. 1/4 cup of granulated sugar in grams should be 50 grams. Measuring out sugar in the 1/4 cup of this set resulted in 67 grams. It's not a huge issue for me personally because I do all my baking measurements with weight (it's more accurate! Everyone should!). But if you only rely on measuring cups, you may question why everything is mildly off.

I love that these are all stainless steel. They’re so sustainable and easy to clean without all of the chemicals from plastic. I love them and I’m glad I decided to upgrade. I do wish that the handles were a bit sturdier. Sometimes they bend a little too easily!
