When you've soaked up all the sun you can, it's time for some shade. But you can't enjoy the shade of a patio umbrella if you don't have anything to keep it upright. The Steel Umbrella Base from Project 62™ keeps your umbrella standing tall and protective over your dining table, conversation set or chaise lounge. Use with your preferred umbrella, knowing that if your style changes over time, this neutral patio umbrella base will always fit in.
1962 was a big year. Modernist design hit its peak and moved into homes across the country. And in Minnesota, Target was born — with the revolutionary idea to celebrate design for all. Project 62 embodies this legacy with a collection of modern pieces made for everyday living.
Fade-resistant treatment keeps fabric looking like new.
I was actually really skeptical about this item after reading the reviews, but couldn’t be happier. First off, the details say an umbrella must be secured by a table. However, the box says it can accommodate an umbrella up to 9’ as a stand-alone. Secondly, the pieces are all metal and are connected with a bolt that seems much stronger than others we have bought and will return. That said, we realize that we will need to cover the umbrella stand opening if we remove the umbrella for rain. Else, we’ll just have sitting water rusting all the key structural elements. We added a Project 62 Umbrella, and it is important to note that the plastic cap has 3 parts that can be removed to accommodate different umbrella shaft sizes. Ours takes the first two, so we will use the third to add a cap for rain. A little gorilla glue and a cover should do the trick. BTW, if you can find it in a store in July 2019, the price will be lower than online.
