A: Hello osker, the Sterilite 12 Gal Latch Tote is made of high quality FDA food safe grade plastics that are non-toxic. These plastics do not contain PVC's, Latex, Teflon, Phthalates chemicals, fungicides, Bishphenol A (BPA), or antibacterial chemicals. Nor do we use them in the manufacturing process of our items.

Sterilite is my go-to brand when it comes to storage totes. I prefer the opaque color so the contents are not visible. The locks are strong and even after years of use, the locks have not broken. The plastic is strong; these containers are well-made. And the price is worth it because these last for years. These containers are stackable, easy storage, I have several them in sizes and rotate them every season.

I’ve ordered this bin many times over the last decade. It’s very substantial but light, and the all-important lid has never caved in from weights stacked above. The size is just right, too - because I can always manage to carry this bin at its heaviest without irritating my back. I’m now 62 yrs old, a female, 5’3” tall. Clearly, I highly recommend this particular product!

I have been reorganizing my basement, and I bought 2 larger totes at the same time. This tote was the perfect size for me to put some heavier items in without it becoming too heavy for me to carry. The latches on top make it easier to keep the bin shut, and you don't have to worry about the lid popping off while you walk around with it.

The boxes have held up nice over time, it is a good size range. My only complaint is the color shows any and all scratches the box gets. So being moved around and habing things move across it will show scratches. Other than that they are very durable and look pretty neat.

I purchased about a dozen of these bins for storage in my basement shelving. They fit perfectly and held just the right amount of items so that the bins would not be too heavy. Unfortunately, within the first two days of use, the corners of several of the bins developed large cracks. There wasn't any reasoning for them, other than the bins were stacked two at a time. It would be helpful if the lids were sold separately so that they could be replaced. They are currently being held together by duct tape, which is an eyesore in an other wised organized area.
