About this item

What if God wants you to wait?
Most of us don’t willingly choose to wait. We pick the shortest lines at the grocery store and avoid construction routes whenever possible. These are relatively short holdups, but they point to the deeper truth of what we try to evade on the larger scale of our lives: the anguish and heartache we experience during extended times of waiting when something we have hoped for gets delayed. Because waiting is painful and hard, too often we try to rush through it, seeking to jump ahead to the hoped-for resolution, opportunity, or healing. It’s easy to overlook that waiting is an inevitable part of our walk with God.

In Still Waiting, Ann Swindell explores the depths of why God wants us to wait by chronicling her own compelling story of waiting for healing from an incurable condition. She provides a vibrant retelling of the biblical account of the Bleeding Woman, finding parallels with her own journey—and yours.

What is your heart waiting for? Let Ann help you see the promise that is hidden in the ache of waiting and the hope of what God can—and will—do as you wait on him.

I always felt that I was pretty good at waiting. I'm not impatient in line, whether at the grocery store or the theme park. I give other drivers a lot of grace because I need it for my own driving boo boos. But seasoned writer, professor, and speaker Ann Swindell uses the familiar Biblical story ...see moreof the reviewer's review

This book has been such a gift of grace to me. A close friend recommended it, so I knew it would be good, but I wasn't prepared for it to touch some of the deepest parts of my heart. Ann writes with what I would call "tender boldness." Her words are raw and vulnerable, yet they always circle back ...see moreof the reviewer's review

Still Waiting couldn’t have come in a timelier manner! Ann Swindell’s personal account on waiting reminded me that while waiting is uncomfortable, it can also be a gift, as it often brings us closer to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Seeing how God uses authentic relationships as a vessel for heal...see moreof the reviewer's review

Don’t wait to get your hands on a copy of this book! Usually, when I get a new book I read it and pass it along to the next two or three people I think might be interested. In the case of Still Waiting, I needed a copy for myself to keep and 4-5 others to give away. Ann shares her own story of sorro...see moreof the reviewer's review
