Q: Do these plates get scuff/scratch marks from using silverware/cutting? I bought an entire new plate collection before & it was ruined in 1 meal by simply cutting meat on it :/

Q: Do they scratch easily? That is, can using a knife on the plate leave a mark?

A: Hi Cheryl - These lovely and durable plates will add a nice touch to your dinner table! This is glazed stoneware so it will not scratch easily. Sometimes flatware/silverware deposits a stain onto the plate that is commonly misconstrued as a scratch, but this can be easily removed with “Bar Keeper’s Friend” or other cleaning products. The glossy glaze should help it not get these deposits as easily. Thanks for reaching out! - John

I had the plate for one day and it chipped. Because it's stoneware, the chip is easy to see - it's not white like the glaze, it's grey. I also have some mugs and on the plates and mugs both, any kind of scratch will leave a slight black mark. Still like the design and idea but they don't seem to wear well.
