Q: Is that a hole in the center of the top of this? Why? What is that for? (I would say it was to insert a patio umbrella, but it would seem to increase the chance of this ceramic tipping and breaking.)

A: Its probably there so water drains and doesn't sit on top but I'm not 100% sure

This is really pretty as a small side table or plant stand. The shipper broke my first order so a new one was sent out immediately and that one arrived in perfect shape. Love the colors to go with other Jungalow dining pieces. I have the tablecloth and dishes to brighten things up. It is a bit overpriced for the size, but I do love the mosaic design.

Shipping : How it didn't arrive in shards, I have no idea. Box torn up. Just a few air pads. Stool: Sturdy and heavy, won't be tipping over. Colors are beautiful, more brick red than orange, a versatile melange of color. The top has a round hole, not sure why, maybe for a ??? This will end up on our summer porch but for now, it sits by the front door.
