Enjoy a comfortable year-round environment with this 12,000btu cooling (SACC*: 7,700BTU) and 11,000btu heating unit. Four operational modes: Cooling, Heating, Dehumidifying and Fan.
Self-Evaporating Technology - during the cooling process, water is extracted from the air into the unit. Most of this water is then recycled and used to cool the cooling coils and make it run more efficiently, cooling as well as energy.
Note: Exhaust hose installation required (complete fitting kit for standard set up included).
NOT A HEATER - Seriously can't run unless in at least 50 degree temp

At first I loved this unit, I bought it in the summer to help regulate a small insulated room in my garage, which function as a workshop. The AC functions are pretty good, although the tube you connect to the window adapter is rather short and doesn't stay put... some hose clamps will fix that so no big deal. The dehumidifier worked well too but the heater... we let's just say I have $600 in repairs to equipment to the workshop room after it stopped heating but still sucked electricity. I would NOT advise the purchase of this unit as there are cheaper AC / dehumidifiers out there since the heating function is greatly limited it turns out. Not only did it quit without a warning or turn off while it was failing but the heating element wouldn't kick on again until I used another source to heat until 50 degrees... the manual says it can function as low as 40 which you can't see online here. However if he had been heating the room as it was supposed to the room wouldn't have gotten down to anything lower than 40 so I'm guessing it quit and hence the damage to the items that were there since it should have been temperature controlled. IF customer service had been helpful I would have given it 3 stars still but instead they didn't help at all even after a chain of several emails where I provided all the information they requests. Apparently heating the room to 50 to turn on their heater was acceptable and it quitting without finding the cause or being alarmed that the unit ran without the heather working an issue is surprising and a sign of real lack of care. PLEASE DO NOT DEPEND ON THIS HEATER UNLESS THE LOWEST TEMP YOU SEE IS 50 DEGREES. I'd hate to think of a family depending on it to help heat their home only to wake up to it having failed as where I live that could be deadly.
It does everything that it states in the description. Will say we have not yet tried the heater, heck it is triple digits where we live. I set this at 68 when we go to bed and put the timer on, sometimes I do wake and use the remote (handy) to turn it back on just around sunrise. I love that the remote has a button to turn off the LED lights thus not illuminating the room. I was going to take a star off just for the noise but I don't think this a fault of the product, just the nature of the beast. IMO it is no worse than a hotel air conditioner. If there was a way that the manufacture could change the cycling of the a/c that would be fantastic. As it is now, when your selected temp is reached the a/c doesn't actually shut off, it kind of cycles to a fan mode, then when temp rises the compressor (I think) part kicks in again. The value was great, there are others out there almost $100 more for this size BTU and they don't include the heater.
